every single thing he describes in this video is why this game sucks. there’s no cohesion to any of it. ok so there’s like insect farms on the edge of the city to produce protein. thats cool. and there’s like no npcs there, no workers, no signs of any sort of labor or anything. not even the deafening sound of millions of crickets being bred and ground into protein powder? no quests to go there, nothing to find, to interact with? i know its a meme, but the “what do these people eat” bit about videogame worlds does actually have a point. what that question is is a beginning of a materialist analysis. if the game devs do not answer this question, that means the devs also do not ask themselves that question in the real world that they inhabit. “food comes from the store”. cyberpunk 2077 is a game thats solely interested in being “punk” and what cdpr thinks is “punk” is beating the capitalists at their own game, being the most capitalist guy around, being a rockstar, making billions of dollars, all while staying “punk”. they don’t care about labor, about poor people, about the people making their game, the actual world they inhabit or anything else. all they care about is them being the “punk ass” polish devs who will show the world that they are the coolest most “punk” devs around and make the biggest most expensive game ever.
terrible garbage ass game, they couldn’t patch the capitalist fake ass stink out of it if they had patched it a million times.
