Edit: On a serious note, it comes off as so comically evil to peg the retirement age to life expectancy. Like, welcome to our free society. You go to school for 20 ish years, you work for some rich asshole for nearly 50 years, and if you’re lucky you can have a decade of free time at the end of your life to have fun while your health declines.
