I’ve searching a lot and I don’t know why but there doesn’t seem to be any chores app. No generic tasks App seems to have the ability to assign it to people or cycle chores.
I found one called Donetick but it is so bad that nothing works when self hosting it and it’s asking for a subscription to be able to send notifications?? From my own server to my own app?
I’m at my wit’s end because this seems like such a small addition to any of the hundred tasks apps out there but somehow it doesn’t seem to exist
Nextcloud decks is great if you have access to an instancd
I tried it first. Notifications don’t work, I can’t do automatic alternate assignments or repeating tasks. Have to manually keep reassigning and never “complete” a task
I see, notification problems are often caused by battery optimization, which can be turned of, but if the features are not your jam I see the issue.
I use it it the way, that each task gets a card with date etc., and I have three lists: urgent, to do, and done, and when I complete a task I drag and drop it to “done” so I have a list of what I “achieved” which makes me quite happy sometimes.
I’ve been using Donetick for about a month and I really like it so far! Mine is self hosted, not asking for subscription, that’s weird.
Hey! Yess someone on reddit also said that. I’m hosting it using Yunohost so I’m guessing it’s a packaging issue from Yunohost’s side. I’m trying to troubleshoot. But do you think you could give me some info like what the YAML looks like? Or where exactly the subscription stuff if being handled so I can manually fix it.
What does your config file have for
DT_ENV=?Mine is
DT_ENV=selfhostedThe .env file doesn’t seem to be there in the config folder. I don’t know how yunohost packaging works so I’m not sure if that’s intended. There’s only local.yaml and selfhosted.yaml
What do you mean the env file isn’t there?
It might not list it with
lssince it starts with a period. If you just donano .env, does it open?Isn’t it selfhosted.env?
I personally have HA remind me to do stuff. An app I paid for years ago to remind me to do my drugs suddenly decided they where going to be a subscription app so I said F it and figured out how to do it in HA. I am a single lazy person who needs the encouragement to do things so I set up scheduled items to go off every ten minutes until I mark them as complete. If you have multiple people who need to do multiple things in a day I am sure you can set it up to only ring one device.
```` ```yaml alias: Watch Charge Reminder description: ‘’ triggers:
- at: ‘10:00:00’ trigger: time actions:
- target: entity_id: input_boolean.watch_charge_reminder_active action: input_boolean.turn_on
- repeat: while:
- condition: state entity_id: input_boolean.watch_charge_reminder_active state: ‘on’ sequence:
- data: title: ⌚ Charge the Watch message: >- { [‘Watch needs juice, eh.’, ‘Gopher tech check: charge the watch.’, ‘Prairie tip: a dead watch cannot mark anything done.’] } action: notify.mobile_app_csa_orbital_debris_tracker
- delay: ‘00:10:00’ ``` ````
@dessalines@lemmy.ml created a habit making app that was helpful to me to this end. i can’t find it again, but maybe they can point you to in the right direction.
