They’re worth reading, some great art and writing, still a kid’s comic so it isn’t going to be spectacular or anything, but like, they’re just really solid and well constructed, plus there’s (implied) yuri in them. The dialogue can be a bit cheesy at times, especially early on in their run, but I guess that’s kind of expected.
I was very surprised since back in my day Sonic comics were notorious for being some of the worst comics ever put to print.
Does anyone on here read them? I want thoughts and opinions! Are they actually trash and I’m just completely wrong about them and you need to write a big essay telling me why? Am I underselling them and they’re actually the greatest works of fiction ever told? Am I the only person on this website who has read them? I need to know.
Honestly it’s really funny how the Archie comics were fun, but so weird. With 6 different writers and artists at any time, as well as DECADES of half hearted attempts to both shoehorn in ocs, and acknowledge the games.
Then IDW just kinda swoops in and assumes the obvious; “You’ve played a sonic game before, this is just slightly off screen” and it just. Works. lol
Plus the original characters fit so well into canon stuff that people have begged (and succeeded somewhat) for them to be added into main games. Basically IDW does what Archie-tendon’t.

Usually around 0.25-0.33 I think, usually not much during action scenes, just in downtime.
If it were every issue it would be cheapening it, but it still manages to hit with the same impact every time because the writers show restraint.

Kind of? Eggman is framed as an imperialist trying to conquer them and them resisting him by blowing his robots up.
The main characters are the “Resistance” but that usually means just kinda being cool and running volunteer fire stations
Is that the continuity with Sally the deer or is it a different one?
I giggled a little cause her names Sally Acorn, so she’s supposed to be a squirrel/chipmunk thing.
But also I say supposed to because, much in line with the old comics approach to stuff, no one ever agreed what she was lol
