- Chinese state-owned company Jilin Chemical Fiber Group shiiped 46 metric tons of carbon chemicals to a subsidiary of Russia’s Rosatom in early 2026, according to shipping and customs record.
- Rosatom is subject to Western sanctions.
- The Ukrainian government verified the authenticity of the materials. According to a Ukrainian official, Kyiv confirmed the authenticity of the documents.
- At the same time, documents obtained by the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center (USCC) describe in detail a possible mechanism for the direct supply of materials by a Chinese state-owned company to Russia. The USCC has shared these documents with the U.S. and British governments.
- Chinese components are regularly found among the wreckage of Russian drones following attacks on Ukraine.
China is supplying drone parts to both Russia and Ukraine and making bank on it. The Chinese Government has made no moves that we know of to restrict Ukrainian Sales so this war profiteering may not be all that savory, it is at least not jaundiced.

In May 2025, Bloomberg reported that China cuts drone sales to Europe but continues supplying Russia.

First report was written by a CISIS analyst. I don’t trust ANYTHING coming directly from CISIS when it comes to China after the whole 2 Micheals turned out to be a bunch of BS. Secondly I would need two backup reports for any Bloomberg article that involved US Poilics, China, or me being on fire before I would believe it.
The third link and its base source was interesting. Here in Canada I have not heard of any restrictions and, outside of the hobby, I haven’t heard of component prices or availabilities and this was something that flew under my radar. I knew about the Russian use of Chinese parts, but this is the first I have come across the fact that China is also restricting parts. Thanks.
