The new Lexus EV will be made using advanced manufacturing methods, including gigacasting, to cut costs and speed up production.
The report comes after Toyota scrapped plans earlier this year to develop a flagship next-gen Lexus EV in Japan using similar production methods.
The manufacturers don’t want to give up all the extra money they make from the maintenance and repairs that are needed for gas vehicles
They just haven’t engineered enough BEV failure points that fail just outside the warranty periods.
