I’m in Southern Europe. I use the land for tiny scale agriculture with lots of grazing. After the fire I now have a chance to clean everything really well and maybe divert water from different sources to spread it more evenly. I’m still learning every day how this landscape works. Just yesterday I saw that the heat has encouraged some white flowers to bloom, they stick out like insane white candles from this black earth.

There’s many reasons for despair, and also there’s so much time to enjoy the flowers and continue to learn. It’s very unlikely that humans will be wiped out completely any time soon, and this is the chance to figure out how to do things better next time and tell our children about it!
