China good so AI good now
Open AI developed by a socialist state is indeed good.
a socialist state didn’t develop this. Alibaba is a corporation
Last I checked, Alibaba is based in China and is a subject of the Chinese state. Perhaps you know something I don’t here?
It’s really not. The material benefit does not in any way compensate for the enormous resource demands and environmental impacts it has. AI hasn’t improved life in any sense, and it’s already wrecking havoc across workforces around the world. I don’t even know what China’s labor plan with regards to AI is but the vast majority of countries have none. One can argue the human cost has already been prohibitive, and that its proliferation is in noone’s interest
You really gotta update your talking points. You can literally run models on your laptop at this point that can do a ton of useful work. Meanwhile, there is zero evidence of AI initiatives actually replacing work anywhere successfully. However, even if AI was replacing work, that would be something to celebrate. The problem is with how automation is applied under capitalism rather than technology itself. One can argue all kinds of nonsense, but there’s no point engaging with uninformed opinions on the subject. For example, those of us who are paying any attention to the subject, do know what China’s labor plan is. https://globalnews.ca/news/11840683/ai-china-layoffs-court-ruling-canada/
Looks like an airhead, to me!
The first country to mass produce AI controlled soldiers will have a massive advantage on the battlefield. One side looses money and lives and the other only money. Supply suddenly doesn’t include food, medicine or water anymore. No issues with moral, fatigue or diseases. Fallen ‘soldiers’ can be recycled and repaired. Scary.
Yeah this is already happening. America has fought a war with Iran for nearly six months now, using AI guidance and drones, and Iran is winning. War isn’t just who has more robots.
I mean drones already exist.
