Seems like the heat coming off that would give you crazy turbulence
The dust is also really problematic from what I remember on one of the podcast episodes of black box down
That looks like a scene from 2012 and you just made it out in time.
No,
20122011 (and 2014) was under a glacier and the magna hitting ice caused it to explode in dust. I think the term is tephra. This is from the last few years where there has been a series of eruptions right next to the international airport in Keflavík.I think that you may be referring to the flight disruption caused by this eruption (although it’s 2010, not 2012) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_travel_disruption_after_the_2010_Eyjafjallajökull_eruption
And I suspect that they mean the apocalyptic movie named “2012”!
Ah yes. And with the Grímsvötn eruption in 2011 and Holuhraun in 2014 I got confused about the years. What even was Iceland doing in 2012, right?
This the kinda shit that keeps you from landing your balloon in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
“There must be an updraft here”
That is incredible!!!
