    this was an area of study at the meteorology department of my uni. it happens when the sun shines from over the horizon onto the underside of clouds with a lot of ice crystals in them.

    which means the first two examples aren’t possible, but the third is. i’ve seen clouds like that, albeit much smaller.

      Yeah these all look fake for sure. None of the actual photos I ever saw of these or when I saw it myself looked anything like this.
