Because it doesn’t make sense? I’m talking historically recent events that are very closely related to the current state of the world. It’s been barely 10 generations since Argentina gained its independence.

My man, someone that immigrated 90 years ago would most likely be over a 100 years old. Does it really hurt that much that over half a million spaniards chose Argentina over Spain?

Look up Ley de Memoria Histórica or Ley de Nietos. Essentially, any descendent of Spanish immigrants in the past 90 years, can claim Spanish citizenship.
Now, the number of Spanish born people who have immigrated to Argentina is ~100,000. The number of Argentinian born people who have immigrated to Spain is ~450,000.
I can assure you way more Argentinians would die to immigrate to Spain, than Spanish to Argentina.

Saying that argentinians would “die” to immigrate to spain is a big stretch though. Argentinians usually pick spain because of the language and cultural similarities. However, I feel that Italians are far nicer and share even more culture with us. If we judge just the country, Spain and Italy are far from the best in the region. They aren’t in Argentina’s situation simply because they’re in the EU.
