  • I find it remarkable how most atheists approaching Christianity take the same literalist approach that fundamentalists do.

    my post is moreso built on the assumption that the bible is inerrant (whatever that could mean). nowadays i approach it as more of a document that emerged from a repressed society that needed the one sliver of hope that christ provided by resurrecting and proving that he's god. but i understand what you're saying.

  • thank you for commenting! there's a lot that i left out because i hastily wrote this while on a train from work, so if you're curious you can also look into jesus' lack of execution documentation, the skipped procedures that should've been done by the guards after he died (breaking legs, checking pulse), and the issue with him getting a tomb in the first place.

  • I don't know of a single recent graduate who had a job lined up out the the door like almost my entire graduating class did

    i remember back in the late 2010s software dev was pushed like hell to anyone who was listening. "oh yea bro if you go into compsci you'll get six figures right out of the gate bro don't worry about the competition bro" and at the time it was true. when i graduated the bubble was in the middle of popping so i was still fine. nowadays things have gotten so bad that you'll be lucky to get a dead end IT job after 200 applications. obviously the field will never fully disappear but i expect it to shrink significantly before it gets any better.
