  • It’s pretty difficult to find anywhere in the US currently that has good jobs, good entertainment and restaurants, access to healthcare, good schools, and isn’t expensive. Sure, you can get a house cheaper in rural Kansas or something but then you have to live in rural Kansas.

  • That’s the problem. Trump is a complete fucking idiot, so just because something is a terrible strategy doesn’t mean he won’t do it. Look what happened last time with the tariffs on Chinese goods and the small trade war he sparked that screwed over soy exports. Did Trump learn anything from that? Or his voters? Evidently not.

All sorts of fruits and vegetables are imported - green beans, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, lettuce, berries, bananas, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, eggplant. And then at the same time, the Trump bros want to crack down on groups of people who make up a large portion of the domestic agricultural workforce? It’s difficult to see some conservative policies as intended to do anything other than just fuck people over and cause chaos.

  • I haven’t had the impression that progressives have been happy with the increasingly lenient policies of DAs in various cities for the past few years regarding crimes like burglary, auto theft and shoplifting. In Denver for instance, police have said that they don’t really bother investigating some crimes since basically the policy is to let repeat offenders out the next day on PR and essentially wait for them to victimize someone badly enough to stay in jail for a while. As someone not remotely conservative, it’s amazing to side with police not doing their jobs due to DAs acting like that.
