  • Definitely. Back when I used FB and Twitter I learned that reporting is entirely useless. You just end up with some automated message about how they reviewed it and it “didn’t violate their community standards” with some lame verbiage like “we realize this isn’t the outcome you were looking for”, regardless of how ridiculously blatant whatever you reported was. On the flip side, I was banned for clearly misinterpreted or brigaded comments, and then an appeal just gives you the inverse where they reviewed it and whatever you posted was definitely terrible and they “realize this isn’t the outcome you were looking for”.

  • In case anyone was wondering, this is the bullshit perspective Republicans are jerking each other off with:

Harris was asked to be there by the Gold Star families and she refused. Her and Biden both refused. They are responsible for the casualties that occurred during that Afghanistan pullout, and they couldn’t face the families despite being asked to be there.

    That should be the story.

But nah. Desperate media makes it about Trump taking pictures with the family who asked him to take pictures.

This is why no one trusts the media.

So, to sum up, “Poor Trumpie”, “desperate media”, “don’t trust ‘the media’”, somehow Biden and Harris’s fault, and no mention of the rules of the cemetery or assaulting the employee.

  • Right. And it makes no sense given that Trump would probably be even worse, and anyone with a clue about American politics realizes that a 3rd party isn’t going to win. The “we have to send a message to the democrats” isn’t a realistic strategy either. What they were saying 6 months ago was “we need to oppose Biden now” (apparently by denigrating him at every opportunity) “but then we’ll support him in the general election”. Ah yes, of course, you’re spreading tons of negative messages about the guy you want to win. Surely they were being honest, right?

  • I started using WindowMaker to n an old laptop that was mainly for playing music and I ended up loving it. It kinda reminds me of using an Amiga. Super fast to start, lightweight in terms of ram, and does everything I need. I like the squishy luxuries of KDE sometimes but it’s been a little over complicated since KDE 4.

  • They’re using the definition of “liberal” as neoliberal or classic liberal, as in basically, capitalists. It gets confusing since in the US the term means center-left people with a focus on improving lives for racial and gender minorities and women. But also these “omg I’m a communist bro so leftist” people like do the “both sides are the same” crap and claim that democrats and republicans are equivalent because they’re both “liberals”, as in capitalists, as if we’ll have a choice about that anytime soon in the us. Also they completely ignore that the democrats are more likely to enact socialist policies while republicans bitterly oppose them.
