(Not as scary as I look, I promise)

  • I must say that from the Zapruder film, it really does look like he was shot from the front the second (?) time.

Somewhere down the JFK assassination documentary rabbit hole, I remember one commentator saying something like "we're trying to determine the reality of an event from a series of two-dimensional moving images," or something along those lines.

Anyway, noodling about this probably isn't the best use of my time . . .

  • There's Dailymotion, though it's not open source or federated.

  • Getting into crackpot territory here, but I think the assassination might very well have had some connection to MKULTRA. The CIA destroyed all the files related to this, and so unless they missed some, we'll probably never know for certain.

  • Actually, you can use Signal for this, if you have it on both your phone and laptop, and use "note to self." I prefer this because it's very straightforward and isn't bogged down with a lot of extraneous extra features that other notetaking apps I've tried tend to have.

  • 😡

  • Right. My sentiments exactly. Hopefully this won't trickle its way into LibreWolf ...

  • Parents of the future will have to change it to "don't you know children are starving in Gaza?" And undoubtedly lots of other places too 🙁.

  • This is a great tip! Didn't even think of it, though I kind of knew it existed. I actually ended up using the WebApps app on Linux Mint, and, voila! An up-to-date web interface made local! Now if we could just get contact photos to display for everyone, and add the ability to sort contacts by surname, I'd be kissing the moonbeams off my elbows (meaning that I'd be even happier than I am now 😁).

    Hmmm . . . what other web apps could I make? 🤔

Is the Linux mail desktop client ever going to get a collapsible (right) side bar like the web version has?

  • I'm not happy that the US sailors are suffering here because of the stupidity and shortsightedness of their commanders, but if it does anything to impede American imperialism . . . maybe they'll rethink their choice of career. Has anyone told them about the 1917 Kronstadt Mutiny? 🤔

  • Is it still possible to switch back to the old one? I really don't see why they feel the need to make this change.

EDIT: Just updated to Fennec 148, and it looks like my reversion to the old menu held. I'm assuming that they'll nuke this option a release or two from now. They should keep both options.

  • Thanks to you both! Can you explain, like you might to a three-year-old, why this is considered a bug? Not smart enough to understand the links you sent unfortunately.

EDIT: Also, should I move my .librewolf folder to .config, and if so, is there a "best practices"-type way of doing it besides just cutting and pasting?

  • As someone who messed with a lot of custom ROMs for Android in the past, I can definitely say that installing Graphene is a breeze by comparison. The one thing to note is that their web installer can't use Firefox (at least the last time I checked), but other than that the experience has been solid. 👍

  • Fixed in 147.0.3-2. Ask and you shall receive. 🙂👍

EDIT: Noticed only because of the LW homepage wallpaper that I just made using NO8X71's awesome alternate logo from reddit, and will share here if anyone would like to use it:
