  • Why Israel? Who the fuck cares about Israel?

  • I don't take uber or taxis. But I've had random women come up to me in public places and grab my private parts, or say sexually suggestive things, and it makes me feel kinda paralyzed, like a deer in headlights, cause what am I gonna do, be the guy that yells at a woman for sexual assault? And then I just never go back in that store for a few months.

  • However it is objectively true that women deal with this problem in much higher quantities than men do.

How do you know that it is objectively true, if you also know these statistics are based around a culture that discourages men from reporting this problem?

  • You ever tried taking a little girl to the park when you identified as a man?

It gets really weird when complete strangers go up to her and ask her if she knows you.

They don't do that when you present as a woman.

  • The amount of males being falsely accused of sexual assault is much lower than the amount of females being exposed to sexual assault.

And you know this because... vibes?

  • it’s disingenuous as hell to pretend that men being weird or sexual towards women isn’t the most common by a colossal margin.

I'm not convinced. Every guy I know has a story about women being creeps to them, but ask them if they reported it, every single one of them will say no.

And for the very few that do try to report it? They're usually laughed out of the room. My own mother said "oh but it's cute when older women do it to younger guys". That's not a rare opinion, that's the default in our culture.

So we don't show up in any official statistics, because our culture discourages us from reporting, and is less likely to take us seriously if we do.

So no, I'm not convinced that men being weird to women is the most common by any margin. We haven't even asked men.

  • Sometimes the advice isn't centered around interactions with other people.

Like - wearing sunglasses can help with feelings of overstimulation during the daytime.

    • running a fan at night for constant white noise can help you sleep
    • Liquid electrical tape is a great way to cover up those little LED lights on everything
    • 10-20 seconds of cold shower can help your body with thermoregulation

My problem is that so much of discussion about autism is centered around social interaction, that people begin to think autism is just a problem of fitting in, and if only other people could be more receptive everything would be better... well it wouldn't make the sun any less bright!

  • Does being a Marxist mean being contrarian to every accusation of wrong-doing against a country that America historically doesn't like?

  • point out the corporation that isn't evil

so that Amazon can buy them

  • People don't become evil in a vacuum.

  • conversations? on geocities? telnet on geocities? wtf is this?

  • I want them to go full-steam with the bible stuff like they did during the GWB years, back when the kids learned the 10 commandments and Jesus's teachings and then started asking "hey why don't our leaders hold up to this? why doesn't my teacher/priest/president hold up to these rules?" and that's when they got rid of them.

  • Wait, is there an actual chance to "see" ADHD in an MRI image?

Only fMRI, which is different, and even more expensive. It's basically the same as asking you a bunch of questions but then seeing which parts light up. Brain can't lie.

  • My cousin was diagnosed by a brain scan. She signed up to be part of a clinical trial for something else, got kicked out of the trial because her fMRI showed she had ADHD.

So if we can literally scan someone's brain and diagnose them from a picture instead of all these vague "describe your symptom" guessing... why don't we?

  • Always with the "extract every ounce of yourself for us", never with the "take care of yourself to maximize your potential for us".

  • Almost all of it is tobacco-derived, which is why I always found the "tobacco companies are trying to get vapes banned" idea ridiculous. They're the ones making the stuff that goes in the vapes.

I think the point of the distinction is regarding cancer. Tobacco on the gums causes mouth cancer, nicotine maybe maybe not.

  • He wasn't falsely accused, he just claimed he was, to protect his memory for his family. There's enough evidence for me personally to convict him, starting with the notebook that had the date of the meeting with the bribers torn out. Just that one page.
