what did they mean by this

  • we should open a c/conservative while we're at it, considering there are millions of conservatives around the world that don't follow the 'yankoid' Republican party and have their own personal conservative beliefs. I'm sure there are many who aren't transphobic - it's not like there's a doctrine to being right wing

after all, it would be naive to not reach across the table on our path to communism

or maybe a c/police, not everybody has had the american cop experience - there are good cops out there who don't support the bad cops, they should be given space too

  • of all the struggle sessions for us to have, this genuinely feels like one that needs to be hashed out tbh

  • also I'm sure it's just Christianity that has this issue, and every other religion is actually A-OK

  • you guys just dont get it, this is my comfort belief system - I'm sure we can cut out the bad parts of it, you see I'm a good Christian, you can trust me

it's a very well known and widely held opinion on hexbear that you can simply reform problems out of archaic and failing systems, just don't look at the bad actors those guys don't count

also neither do the millions of people using my religion as a shield for their bigotry, they don't count either - unless we're arguing for why we need to be soft on religion, in which case they totally count and you are being very naive to exclude them

also if you bring them up as a reason why these things shouldn't be finding such support on a website that bills itself as welcoming to the oppressed you are personally attacking me and the immaterial beliefs that I need to help me cope with the material reality we live in, which I find to be very marxist of me

  • why is always when some shit like this gets posted i see a bunch of reactionary comments on hexbear like 'oh well i guess we all have to date someone born the same SECOND as us HUH? I better tell my WIFE I'm a P*DO because there's two years between us!!' like come the fuck on

i get it, idpol's gone wild and the youth are nutso but do you really have to throw out the nuance?? maybe i'm misreading things but it feels like some of yall get really defensive when this topic comes up, and as a result we can never have any valid discussion about this topic without someone throwing some reddit-level bad faith thing at you for saying 'yes, there is some truth to age-gap discourse'

  • so long as we acknowledge that bad things are bad and no one gets blamed for it, we'll never have to understand why these things happen and by God I'll do whatever it takes to keep it that way!!!

fuck leaving the cave !!! all my homies hate understanding the world 😤😤😤

  • its very evident from their other replies that their metric for 'good' art is 'is it beautiful?' and their definition of 'beauty', in turn, is simply 'does looking at this release dopamine or not'

    deeply unserious person

  • this is what it always comes down to

they don't respect artists, they don't respect artistic labour but they so desperately need and want the fruits of said labour and so the only option left is to cheat and lie

hell, it's evident in the last sentence of their reply - that they see 'Artist' as a profession that is getting 'Obsoleted', as if the only reason art exists in the first place is because we as a society have been too archaic, and we would jump at the chance to drop the creative process in a heartbeat

complete and total alienation from creativity as a human experience

  • its not even that they don't have the creativity - its that people have been so poisoned by commodity capitalism that they feel like their art 'doesn't count' unless it looks like 'real art' that can make money

people are so isolated from the creative process that they think they can dump it entirely, as if all it is is just knowing how to scribble on a page

  • its more like the pizza shop calling you out when you're cooking frozen pizza and calling yourself a chef

all power to you if you want to just consume slop, but dont complain when you turn around years later and the quality of everything across the board has gone even further to shit cos you were so happy you could type in words and see anything you wanted for all the 15 minutes of dopamine it gave you
