I don't read my replies

  • Conspiracy theories can be a coping mechanism that allow people to feel like they understand a complicated and scary world. The Epstein scandal is complicated and scary.

  • Slug man from the sewer runs for president, wins.

  • The reason circumcision is common in the US has more to do with people like RFK jr. than it does with people like Epstein.

  • Have an upvote you lunatic.

  • The idea isn't falsifiable. Therefore it's not science.

It's not dumb or foolish to think that ideas like this are plausible and cool. They may even be true, we just can't tell the difference with science.

  • Sulfuric Acid isn't ideal for dissolving bodies, because it doesn't dissolve bones well. It has many legitimate uses such as water purification, which the article points out.

Honestly with all the terrible shit we know happened, I don't understand the urge to turn this into an episode of Dexter. Is child-abuse island it not interesting enough?

  • Hardees/ Carls jr. used to advertise a 1/4 cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato as the "six dollar burger" as a dig at casual dining restaurants.

Today it's called the "famous star" and is $6.39.

  • Gary Webb killed himself. He was divorced, unemployed, and his professional reputation was ruined. His reporting on the CIA importing cocaine was retracted after it was fact checked, and his editor would not stand behind the reporting.

But his article was published and is still available to read. The idea that the CIA assassinates people 20 years after they "spill the secrets" stretches credulity. Makes since he'd punch his own ticket.

The idea that he was shot twice "in the back of the head" is a myth. He did shoot himself twice, but that's not so unusual. 42% of gunshot and penetrative wounds to the brain are survivable.

This meme irritates me because it depends on the misinformation that suicides are unusual or suspicious. Suicides are common as dirt. To the tune of like 40K people/ year in the US. It's a major public health crisis but gets ignored because of taboo and because it's a gun issue.

  • Wow IS is almost as incompetent as the CIA.

  • That headline implies that selling plasma to get by is acceptable so long as your working class or poor.

    OR

Holy shit poverty is happening to worthy people.

  • I used to work cleaning residential construction sites. Once my coworker and I came across a bucket that was used as a toilet. My comrade commented that immigrants were nasty, but my thought was that their cheap ass boss didn't provide facilities.

I think this is the basic difference between the left and right.

  • Because WWII is the only history in America. And we've forgotten 3/4 of that.

  • People already put rent on their credit card to pay it off in chunks. This is just Klarna tapping in that market

People using CC to pay rent isn't reassuring, it's more alarming. Paying for housing on short-term, high-interest credit is financial insanity and implies profound dysfunction if not desperation.

  • I want to cook these motherfuckers as much as anyone. But if there is universal political motivation, then maybe the best use of it would be policies and international agreements to aggressively pursue sophisticated and connected abusers of children.

These files have exposed society wide failures of indifference, corruption, and tolerance for rank criminality. If after all that we've learned, kids aren't made to be safer, then we've failed again.

  • What you're being distracted from is the fact that rape and sexual assault, especially of children is normal and accepted in our society. You may be confused by all the hate and demonetization pedophiles get, but like all rape, the status of the perpetrator matters most.

Until 1971, married men were immune from charges of raping their wives. And several States protected them after that. For every 100 rapes reported to the police, only 18 charges will be filed 1. And of course their are incompetent pigs and timid prosecutors. But it's also the public at large who won't convict rapists. (because nobody believes women)

Epstein wasn't hiding anything. And all those people around him knew what he was up to.

But forget about Epstein. What powerful men are snatching teenagers off the street today? Nobody cares.

The Epstein scandal is about embarrassing powerful men. Nobody gives a shit about raped little girls.

    1. Here is a reference to that figure, but for some reason, the referenced study isn't on the DOJ's website anymore.
  • Another sacrifice to the god of guns.

Every time something like this happens, gunbrains will explain why it's the result of stupidity. But that's just copeum because they need to believe that their choices aren't putting their families at risk.

  • The fine print is worse. If you cancel, you owe a fee equal to the rental price for the remainder of the year.

  • SKorea, just like Japan doesn't have a birth rate problem, they have a racism problem. Their ethnostate immigration policies make Donald Trump look like Angela Merkel.
