  • hardest part for me is services like google's "find my phone" or google maps. If I need to quickly find a business, osmand or organic maps tend to fail, or default to finding a region of a street, instead of a single address for some odd reason.

Good on you though, I'll be in the same boat by year end, if I find proper solutions

  • yeah, I have a manual vaporizer powered by a small torch lighter, nothing is burned and it doesn't leave behind an overwhelming scent. Vaporizers, maybe small ones would be great at a bar or otherwise.

  • Even though you can tell she was shaken by this, it's clear she hasn't lost her sense of purpose.

Expose corrupt minds, if they are so proud of what they do, so strong and fearless, yet they cower when the light shines on them. Cowards parading as warriors.

Definitely piqued my interest, I will follow Rachel Gilmore on her reports. She definitely has a message worth protecting!

  • Yeah, the physical actively is the least tiring part about a car-free lifestyle, ironically.

I visited some family for Christmas using the train, and man, it was great to sip on some cream liqueur on the way there, with only a single bus and a short walk to reach the final stretch. Yeah, it sucks, you can't stay out late unless you have plans for staying the night. Job in another city to bumfuck nowhere with no transit options? Oh well, guess they don't need me.

  • damn that's wild. The best thing about that would be not having to use lights in the morning, saves a little bit of power no?

  • Tell him to get on a bike and then ask him how much of a hazard to drivers he feels like

  • Inspiring tale, glad you found something you both enjoy and learn from! I think that's a great use of time, to problem solve and develop tools that benefit you day-to-day.

I've had some family that have experienced strokes, ranging from a slight scare to full on life-changing. You're certainly doing well if you're writing your own apps, I can barely script BASH.

  • yeah, I was looking at the Moto G15 for my next phone, but with this news, I'm considering waiting a little longer for a better OS

  • which is fine, I mean, you'd want decent specs + a secure OS in this day and age

  • who are the fascists and white supremacists?

  • I honestly don't understand people beefing with people they don't know personally. Like, sure, I'm not the biggest fan of furries, but hey, you do you, I like animals but just not like that.

Not using software because people you don't know like something you don't like????? So stupid. Be you, be proud.

(I'm speaking generally, not directly to you op, btw)

  • shoutout to ffmpeg!

  • Yeah same. Its a little annoying having to wait for certain updates, like when a new application can be built from source on arch, but i'd have to rebuild a core dependency from a scratch to get it working on fedora.

But ive been using it for years, and even if i broke the system, ive always got it working again, which is saying something.

  • Google wants to finance anything they can get their damn search engine into, that's not entirely the fault of Firefox. I still use a firefox-based browser, but only for now.

There is ladybird on the horizon, a browser being built from scratch, not based on either Gecko or Webkit.

  • definitely a goated application on linux by now. I've just started using it, and holy cow, it's way more capable than I thought it was. 1.0 was a blessing!

  • the cat in the image is windows update taking over the linux boot partition: the box, instead of leaving it alone for the much more comfortable windows boot partition: the cat tree.

  • Us human really are good at making shit worse, eh?

  • Fuck, RIP to an entire generation of kids and teens who won't get to experience the joy of building out their own personal machines

  • episode #205 of How big tech is ruining tech again

  • Fuck Cars @lemmy.ca

being called selfish for not having a car

  • Fuck Cars @lemmy.ca

Shamed by parents for wanting a car-free lifestyle.
