  • this is already the case, except i can eventually reach a human that doesn't understand english, reading an english script....at least the AI won't get frustrated and hang up on me.

  • yes

  • protests like that really just serve to raise awareness...let's the government know people are very pissed, and let's other pissed citizens know they're not alone...and makes unaware citizens aware of the problem...it's a great start, but doesn't solve anything on its own

  • apparently you only talk to assholes!or maybe... just maybe, it's you

  • negative

  • posts celebrating the Hamas massacre of October 7th minutes after it began

ah, so they all knew of the rapes minutes after the attack began and were celebrating it...and it was rape, in particular, that they were celebrating....thanks for clarifying that

  • whoa, it turns out you're a condescending asshole in all of your comments!?!!

    what a surprise!!!!

  • why not?

  • yeah, duh, everyone has that effect on their camera

in this case, in was unnecessarily added in

  • unnecessary blur on that there picture...

  • Lemmy Shitpost @lemmy.world

    elephants

  • funny choice of words...rather than sobering, this shit drives me to drink...

  • this graph is looking suspiciously like exponential growth... which would probably be very bad

  • the problem you're not acknowledging is that the atmosphere is a limited resource that belongs to all of us. (not to mention fuel/energy issues)

i think it groovy to do some beta testing and all... but they shouldn't just keep launching disposable satellites to bridge the gap and keep service going... all space launches should be extremely well thought out, efficient, and as long lasting as possible...

    like a nasa mission

sure, do some research... but don't just burn up the sky....

  • it's not about the $10, it's the principle...

  • i have considered that, and it does serve a very good purpose there...but still, launching a shitload of satellites wastes a lot of fuel and energy, and deorbiting them is rather wasteful.im sure the same thing could be done without treating satellites like kleenex...one of those things where profit and preserving the environment clash.

  • what is your point?my point is you're agreeing with me a lot but misinterpreting me entirely... so you're trying to argue with me....i'll repeat my point reeeeeally simply:yes, starlink wasteful, bad satellites.some satellites good, like hubble.

  • well i was contrasting how say, the hubble telescope is a worthwhile satellite that will eventually burn up in the atmosphere, while starlink is wasteful....
