I have pretty much always used the term "partner" for my hetero relationship. A coworker once asked me why, since they had met my partner and knew their pronouns and that it was a hetero relationship. I explained
I feel that it's a better description. They are my partner in my life. "Boyfriend" / "Girlfriend" feels kinda immature/weak.
People don't need to know my damn business. If I'm talking to a stranger they don't need to know that much about my life.
If it helps to normalize the use of the term, then that's great.
Hell, we're getting married soon, and I will probably still use it. Or maybe say "my spouse" instead. Right now I say Fiancé / Fiancée which I do like. Since when said aloud, it still has the ambiguity.
If anyone is curious, this image is used as the cover to a text book "An Introduction to Error Analysis". I have a print of it hanging on the walls in my bedroom that my mom found at a thrift store years ago.
This is good to know. I'm looking at potentially getting new NC ear buds. I have Bose NC 700 over ear headphones, however want earbuds. I was looking at the fair buds, but I wanna be able to walk away from my phone if needed.
If you want to host your own email server, then do that. As someone earlier in the thread said, email was the first federated messaging system. That was the entire point of SMTP. Anyone could host one and trust it would work.
I don't know if it's what you're looking for, as it's not ActivityPub based, but Postmoogle is a Matrix bridge email server, where you can send emails to it and they'll be converted to Matrix messages. There might be a similar thing for ActivityPub?
That's good to hear. The last (and only) book I bought on Kobos store I had to use Adobe Digital Editions I think, which was annoying since they don't provide that for Linux.
Do you have an easy way to strip the DRM from the Kobo ebooks? If not, then is it much different thank Amazon? I also have a kobo but don't buy from their store. I mainly buy books on ebooks.com if they are DRM free. And maybe acquire others that aren't DRM free.
The catch? Battery life is quoted at 12 hours in standard use or approximately 36 hours in battery saver mode. The drop in battery life is a direct result of Garmin using the 1050’s transmissive screen technology on the 850
I appreciate you! I'm working on it. I've been working in losing weight and strengthening, and biking 8km each way to work every day is definitely helping that.
However, recently I saw someone who I'm sure has quads of, I don't even know what. There's a local ice cream stand in my area I've seen before, that I assumed was towed by a car. Nope, saw the person towing it behind a bike the other day. It was an analog bike too.
Yeah, I love my pannier bags. However I have a fold out basket on the other side of the rack that I generally use for groceries if I am stopping after work for just a single bags worth. Its grant. It's the ideal size for a standard paper grocery bag, which is the same size as our reusable bags.
You are 100% right. However, I had forgotten my cargo net / straps at home in my other pannier bag. So I had to improvise. What would you have me do, not get the cargo?
