  • I try to never use "the finger" when another driver is being an ass. In that case I always just give them a thumbs down and a sad face.

I save the middle finger for people who are being "nice", especially when it is making things dangerous. I find it is the quickest way get them to just go.

I try to be coniderate while driving. Being predictable is safe. Deviating from the rules is dangerous. I think being safe more considerate than being "nice".

  • This world is so interesting.

  • Also, doesn't the jetbrains license let you continue to use the version that was the latest as of when your license ended. It's a small difference, but also kinda huge.

  • I'm curious of what your definition of "a civilized country" is.

I expect the answer is going to be prejudice AF.

  • This isn't what my understanding of how the system works, but the way you word it, you seem very confident that it is. I'm honestly curious what you read that lead you to this perspective.

  • It's not about the taste, it's about the texture.

  • Interesting, my first thought was similar but different.

    Clothing.

Now I have to go poke around the Internet trying to understand the history of both, which came first, and speculate about which made a bigger impact on our species.

    edit:

Yep, it was fire. By like a lot. Both have pretty big ranges, but fire seems to be in the hundreds of thousands of years ago range, and clothing seems to be in the dozens of thousands of years.

  • I had a similar thought, but only using the first slice of a tomato so that it's red.

  • I guess you've never heard of the National Organization of Restoring Men.

I swear I am not making this up.

  • I'm a little sad I had to scroll so long to even find a reference to the old "pogs". Damn what a weird fad.

  • The primary ingredient that makes it sushi is the rice.

I think by definition sushi is "vinegar seasoned rice topped with fish, egg, or vegetable" which this is.

Curiously, what is a sushi-bake? I'm afraid to search for it.

  • Eh, fair point.

  • I'd move to another country, but I'm pretty sure nobody would take me.

  • I know you asked about memory, but the computer I just assembled had a 750watt power supply. As an American I think we should refer to it as a "one horsepower power supply" instead.

  • I feel like most of my googling of simple code is because I know what I'm trying to do, but I don't remember the correct function name and or language structure for the language I'm currently using.

  • Clearly this is what we call "self documenting code".

  • A couple weeks ago I was walking home, and had just crossed a road, and as the traffic lights changed to let the cars go, I hear someone honking. A few more seconds later, more cars joined in just in case one car honking wasn't enough to fix the situation. At the front of the line of traffic there is a guy in an SUV who looked flustered. I can see his headlights periodically dimming, which I assume is him trying to start his car. I walked up to his window and asked "Hey, do you want a push?" which he replied "yes, please". When I walked to the back of the vehicle and leaned against people finally stopped honking. It took all of 15 seconds or so to get him to the side of the road. Before walking away, I simply asked him if he was all set. He gave me a relieved "yeah. thank you", I continued home, and didn't really think about it until just now when I read your question.
