  • Social media is an incredibly strong tool. It started off pretty nice, so we thought once the boomers died out we would be better off and for a while it was looking good, but it has quickly turned into algorithmic slop which can easily feed people propaganda without them even realising it.

  • In any age, it didn't make sense. We are strong, united. The elite seek to divide us because it makes us weaker and easier to control. Nobody is born a bigot.

  • Isn't that the point of major version upgrades? To make breaking changes?

  • Yup. It's always laughable, we just have to ignore them. They can pay if they want to use their car. Also if they cared enough about the economy, they will walk or catch a bus to support the businesses. But we know they won't do that :)

  • They've always wanted all of the money without any of the effort.

  • Good. Fuck "AI". They should have to disclose exactly what it was used for and that should be displayed right at the top of the games store page, along with any extra transactions in the game, extra accounts or launchers needed.

  • Fuck right off Tim. You cunt.

And you wonder why nobody wants to use your shitty storefront.

  • You are mistaking what I am saying. I have nothing against the project as whole and the mission is fantastic.

They just have zero PR skills, don't know when to keep their mouth shut or how to communicate properly when they need to. A little bit of consultation would go a long way for them. Obviously I am not expecting Google levels of PR/marketing, but it's not great to see just ranting Discord/matrix messages. If it wasn't an issue, these posts wouldn't exist at all.

  • Steam Deck proved that Linux can now be a success in the hands of the general public. This is basically a more powerful one you plug into your TV.

While it is a custom PC, like the Deck, its also a curated experience, like the Deck.

The evidence is already there, I would understand you if this was their first product back, but it isnt.

  • GrapheneOS have always had a massive PR problem and crazy leadership unfortunately.

  • The first time it was largely due to lack of game support and confusion as they were 3rd party devices.

This time pretty much every game will run through Proton, Linux for desktop has matured a lot, SteamOS is much better and Valve are selling it 1st party. It will sell a lot, even if it is priced as a PC... I mean at the end of the day it is a PC, a custom SFF one, which are usually very expensive. This will good value for what it is, you just can't compare it to a console.

  • What is to upgrade? Smartphones/phablets were always going to reach a peak, where the innovations that can be made are small. Screens look amazing, cameras are incredible, it's all at a point where phones do everything we want them to really well. Upgrades now are just iterative, battery improvements are welcome, improved camera sensors would be cool, but we dont need any of it, even faster SoCs, brighter or higher resolution screens are pointless now.

They can't really do much more, we dont need thinner, they are worse. Folding could be a potential avenue, but it's not there yet, they are far too fragile. There's going to have to be some new breakthrough tech to make a lot of people buy new phones, until then, they will have to keep trying to sell AI and some other bullshit features.

  • Position never changed, you can see that in the thread. I guess stay deluded?

But you seem to want to go in circles and regurgitate the same spiel, so I'm not going to continue this, I clearly got baited. Good luck out there. Spread love, not hate.

  • You know what, I regret lashing out. Let me ask.

Why are you like this though actually? What led you to be so hateful and bigoted? Does it hurt you to be nice and kind to others?

Like why are you responding to a 3 week old thread just to spread your spiteful agenda?

Seriously, take a step back and think about what you are doing. There's no reason to be cruel to others, we are all on this planet together, we should be kind and respectful to each other. Think about that, you can always change your tone and join us in peace and acceptance of all.

  • You hateful fascists are fucking insane, there's no place for you in society.

  • Please kindly fuck off ASUS.

  • You guys are defending bigots using "Microsoft control" as a fucking excuse to. Get off your phantom high horse.

They already got push back from trying to control chat with their reporting player system, they will get it again if or when they try unjustified takedowns.

Which even if they do, without changing the entire game and how it functions, they can't stop us hosting our own servers anyway. They can only stop us connecting to their servers. It's also their IP and game, they have the "right" to control who hosts authenticated servers, if you like that or not, that's the fact of the matter. If they do something you don't like, you can play one of the other thousands upon thousands of games out there.

At the end of the day, it's fucking Minecraft, a video game. Stop getting your panties in a twist over it, pretending it's some big government censorship of speech (that's actually happening btw across the world, focus your enthusiasm there).

  • I'm not going to fight for a bigoted server. That was made clear. I'm happy for Mojang to take that shit down.

  • They have to be paid, they say the driest "jokes" and the crowd goes wild. They are like the lowest common denominator of comedy (if you can even call it such).
