  • Hello friends.

    I feel bad for this weekend because on Saturday we promised the kid we would go to the zoo on Sunday and then he forgot about and also we did house work all day. I feel like he had two parents home but both of us were off doing things so we weren’t really “home” if that makes sense.

    We found a bunch more mold behind one of the walls downstairs a few weeks ago and that is leading to days of work. I also purchased 4 more air filters and a dehumidifier. If anyone wants to complain about mold with me I can go on for days.

    So while we were doing important work it still kinda feels like we robbed that kid of quality time.

  • My two year old currently does the same thing! He also needs to be touching me with some random body part. So there is sometimes a foot on my face. Haha. It’s wild.

    Audio books help him settle down a little. Right now we are listening to the coco storyette by tammy trull. It has some clips from the movie itself so it keeps him interested.

  • A scam call center opened in the office next door. Who do I report them to?

  • This is how I feel about elf on the shelf. Not sure I want to get into that tradition or if I like it.

    The kids I used to watch made gift bags for the adults in their life with the candy and their parents made something for dessert with them. It was cute.

  • My kid is a picky eater but he ate both the lasagna and soup I made and I am proud of us both. I am going to try cooking bigger meals more often. It just feels so hard to do.

    We put out the bounce house today and all the neighbor kids came and played. My husband had a bunch of huge boxes leftover from a project he was doing and all the kids built forts and played. It was so nice.

  • Hello friends.

    This weekend we officially kinda split our house into two and my husband moved all his stuff downstairs. It sounds worse than it is. He is actually pretty loud in the mornings so this might help me wake up less. He wants a space where I don’t move his things and I want a space where he doesn’t leave things laying around for days.

    Anyways, it’s vacation week and we are going to Omaha, apparently they have a great zoo there. I am excited :)

    Currently on a plane back home after a 10 day trip with just me the kid to visit all our family.

    This is the last flight and my god has it gone so well. It has almost been nice to be on the plane. Currently sitting next to each other on our devices.

    Excited to be home and in quieter places.

  • I caved and bought an expensive nugget couch. The reason why: Imaginary cats.

    My child has a climbing thing inside his playroom Which has a small mat under it. He lately has been saying “Come on mama that silly little cat is stuck in the tree again.” He then proceeds to climb up the ladder, rescue the cat, then climb back down. But he has cats in his hands so he does not hold the ladder. He holds his hands in fists.

    He then comes down and we pet the pretend cat.

    I just need more cushions, everywhere.

    Don’t adopt/rescue imaginary cats. They are expensive and have a bad habit of getting stuck in trees.

    My kid palmed handfuls of spaghetti into his mouth today so we too participle in a taste of Italy.
