  • AliExpress at least lets you buy close to the source of a lot of goods that you won't find made elsewhere than China. Some stuff I find there exists from European makers, latest example, trim clips for cars: you can buy Restagraf but you need to live near a car body shop supplier that will be willing to sell you a few clips without insane markups.

  • I don't think automatic transmissions are in any way responsible for car centric urban planning, Europe has plenty of it and the transition to automatics is very slow and quite recent.

    I agree far too many people are allowed to drive when they shouldn't but people dying on the road is more socially acceptable than stringent standards for being allowed to operate lethal machines at insanely high speeds (in terms of kinetic energy at least).

  • Quand vous avez un produit alimentaire abîmé (quand vous ne savez pas comment et que ce n’est pas parce que vous l’avez oublié dans un placard dix ans), se plaindre à la marque ça a l’air de systématiquement fonctionner, quand ma femme le fait elle a toujours des bons d’achat bien au-delà de la valeur du produit.
