  • Check out Debian as well! (or lmde) I have recently switched from Arch to Debian (with sway) to have some more stability. Love it so far, I don't bother about configs or having by dependencies anymore and can just focus on actually doing some work. Arch has a really active community though with a big repository (which quality varies a lot) and nice documentation.

  • Scorn the Cornpunk game from Ebb Software

  • I was over the switch 2 when i saw the the bare switch OS only had minor changes. Consoles are PCs without choice, but that is actually fine by me if they provide a fun experience not only in but outside of games as well.

  • Wow, this picture captures the corn perfectly–nice lightning too!

  • It’s just the app…. you need to use an app to interact with almost all services these days. Maybe you are referring to having choice to be unintuitive? Sure it’s more work and you have to think about what fits most your needs but i think it’s a net benefit to be even have to choice.

GitHub Actions Has a Package Manager, and It Might Be the Worst

  • According to the Woke Content Detector it is "Not Recommended" their reason being:

Contains overtly pro-LGBTQ+ messaging. Features multiple LGBTQ+ characters, including the player character. Heavy social commentary regarding communism. Whether pro or anti is unclear.

I find the last part really funny and also fitting for the meme.

  • Love Codeberg. Just wish there would also be HackerHill, BytePeak and SoftwareSummit with federation!

  • Im eyeing Zig for a long time also as the core developers behind it seem to be really cool and drama free. Which, i know, is no argument for an programming language but cool non the less. Just hope the language itself is also cool to work with.

  • Also, at least for something like this feels like hack more than anything. Maybe its not, i did not look inside the code. But just from outside I would assume that would break with every GIMP release and even if not it would never feel "right".

  • I was wondering that too. Its actually a thunder storm. The worst thing is that it also spawns a lot of skeletons :/. I feel like it is happening alot, it might be related to the biome. Thanks for checking it out though. :)

  • Saw people on here calling the mbin, lemmy, piefed part of fediverse "threadiverse" so i have adopted it.

Also saw nodeBB but I didn't really like the style of it. And I believe that we already have the backend set with lemmy, its just a matter of how the data is being presented. 🤔

  • Have the same feeling, I actually thought about making an alternative threadiverse client in the style of phpBB. But I believe there should still be an option to display comments like threads, it is just easier to use I believe. Default should definitely be new though for comments and posts. Its surprising how well threadiverse would be compatible with message boards.

Which also brought up the question with the fediverse being so open how different people interact with it using different clients.

  • Awesome :) In that case it might be helpful to look for a tutorial, I believe i saw one included in VoxeLibre. When you write /help in chat you see a list of commands I believe one of them opens up a wiki of sorts with some "getting started" chat.

Unfortunately the spawn is not really beginner friendly I believe, maybe I should have gone with basic plain fields. There are some not too far off the spawn in the direction of the safe house. Maybe we can also set up a camp there :)

  • Thank you for checking it out! :) No stress though, i know how it is with the crafting urge. Server wont be gone any time soon and ill be on there on and off as well.

  • Just played on there myself.

Didn't know the cold taiga was so hard to play in. Especially with a snow storm going on. The constant thunder strikes created a bunch of skeletons, skeleton horses and special skeletons with ice arrows. Soon the whole forrest was riddled with them.

I did manage to create a safe house though. There is also a bed inside for anyone joining so you can sleep through the night:

After the snow storm was over I was also able to bring in some cows and sheep they reside now behind the safe house. Please make sure theres enough cows! If you are hungry you can also go fish in the frozen lake, i put a fishing rod in the chest inside the safe house.

    FediCraft - Season 0

  • Sorry, I forgot to add the /s.

But thank you for the calculations, it's actually interesting :) I was thinking about that myself, but didn't bother to do the math.

I thought its reminiscent of cryptomining as it also consist of guessing an arbitrary number just for fun.
