  • We’re using Jamf and it makes it at least tolerable. Make sure to get Apple Business Manager going so you can load devices in as Supervised, otherwise you lose the little forced update controls you have. But yeah when Intune looks like the reasonable solution it’s all bad.

  • Oh haha no this is hundreds of iPads across a number of locations, and a lot more harassing folks than I’d like to get their devices turned on so they can update and meet our audit requirements.

    You would think if I’ve had to contact your department the last three updates in a row to get it done, and the only check ins I see for months are during the updates, maaaaybe your team doesn’t actually need these devices, Brad, but no their VP just has to have them.

  • I mean sure, if I saw that actually happening I’d be ecstatic. That’s not what I ever see happening though so I keep my expectations in the basement and maybe one time in 30 I’m pleasantly surprised.

    And FWIW in person to a person that’s flipped views I’ll be supportive, and I’ll go through the whole “hey maybe this extends to other things?” And lay the groundwork for growing because I’m not going to shit on them directly for doing something positive for once, but privately I’m not holding out hope that they’re actually going to learn and grow from this to realize empathy is the most important thing we can have as humans.
