Sexual equality has ceased to exist online. It’s absolutely fine for boys to have sex, but when girls do, they are called worthless and referred to as objects.
This isn't new. I'm a man in my mid 40s and the disparity between how promiscuous men are viewed as compared to promiscuous women has existed for as long as I've been sexually aware, and well before.
Obviously that doesn't make it okay. I also have no idea what the solution might be. There have been a few cultural efforts to normalize the idea of women enjoying and seeking out sex but none of them seem to really reach the people that need to hear it.
I do find it oddly paradoxical that men who make it very clear that they are actively seeking sexual partners would disparage women for being sexually active.
The thing I find odd about the argument that a power imbalance makes consent impossible is that would make it effectively impossible for any POTUS to have consensual relations except for maybe with other world leaders.
Not keeping a buffer that covers any upcoming bills in an account from which bills are automatically paid is deranged behaviour. I don't care how much interest you may or may not get on that money.
Really depends on the type of mess, I think. If there is a lot of dry crumbs I'd give that a quick brush into the dustpan before spraying and doing the full wipe down. I don't want to just smear a bunch of wet crumbs around.
"Would you do X for $Y" questions are always wild to me because the X is almost never anything that objectionable, and the Y amount is almost always enough to solve literally every problem in my life.
For a while (maybe even still, I haven't kept up with it) you could unlock paid features with a modded client, so they absolutely have a history of using client-side verification.
Matrix does have a bot API, but there is not even close to as robust an ecosystem of bots to choose from. Whatever you want is probably possible, but depending on your needs you may have to write it yourself.
I get it. There's social friction in that kind of altercation, but fear of that social friction is a contributing factor for the current state of things.
Sure, you can't walk out on your job to start protesting in the streets because for all practical intents and purposes everyone is a single paycheque away from financial ruin, but Jesus Christ people, you can stand up to the batty woman in your local parish telling you that trans people are grooming children.
Yes, there are social consequences, but the line needs to be drawn somewhere, right? Are you seriously going to tell me that quiet acquiescence is preferable to ostracism from a sexist/racist/homophobic/etc social circle?
There are countless tiny opportunities to stand up and none of them are easy, but we're long past the point where they're necessary.
Unless you really need to optimise for land use. An arbitrarily large solar array in space could transmit to a fairly small collector in the surface.
As for losing power to atmospheric attenuation, high frequency microwaves will pass right through most everything that would scatter visible light. Clouds, dust, etc wouldn't really impede it.
I won't say it's not a silly idea, because it is. It's fun to think about though.
My Kikkoman bottle is currently full of Lee Kum Kee.
