I actually liked my Windows setup because it was fast and streamlined.
What I didn’t care for was cutting out bloat every major update and the surprises like “we just copied all of your private keys and documents into our cloud and hid them”
The mouth-breathing AI-bros that present to our very large company are revolting. In our industry the accuracy of our software is literally life or death.
And the presenter is all “teehee look at how cool it sorta kinda made a shitty web app to look at cats on a map and it took 5 tries to make it display a pulldown in the correct order teehee”
Yea dude, your middle school project isn’t impressing anyone.
I wouldn’t be so angry if we weren’t actually giving them money.
We are lucky/cursed enough to own a Tesla with FSD.
It got to the point where it did some things pretty well, and it was at least predictable.
About a year ago they revamped it completely where now it drives erratically and exhibits a lot of habits made by poor drivers.
Worst thing now is it will not maintain speed. I repeat, it is impossible to cruise on an open highway at a specific speed. It’s absolute garbage.
Sometimes I turn off FSD just to have cruise control, though it then runs an old driving model that has huge flaws. I’m talking initial release shit from 2018.
Whenever we rent a car I’m amazed at how any newer economy vehicle can do “basic” stuff like adaptive cruise control without fuss.
Even without all the political shite, they’ve really lost their way.
Expired certs are a telling indicator of workplace chaos. This happens when good developers are replaced with much cheaper contractors, and all the shit the original devs did on the side gets lost.
It’s not the contractors’ fault. It’s short-sighted management that piss off good workers who can choose where they want to work.
She will cave as soon as her now-reasonable rhetoric faces a personal consequence.
