  • Maybe they read Iain M Banks Culture books. Several examples of good AIs there.

  • Cars without knobs shouldn't be allowed. Knobs are awesome.

  • I see a future where all computing is done in the cloud and home computers are just dumb terminals. An incredibly depressing future. Customers not users is the goal.

  • I don't have any good movie recommendations but I very much enjoyed listening to the albumAvec Laudenum by Stars Of The Lid when I was zonked out on morphine.

  • BYO torches (not tiki) and pitchforks.

  • Me_irl

  • A pill organizer plus an app to remind me when it's pill time and when it's time for a refill solved this problem for me.

  • And when you have moved everything into folders you can't sort the folders. Also can't get rid of the stupid horizontal padding on widgets.

  • I switched to lawnchair. It's ok but feels a bit "We have Nova Launcher at home".

  • I think it was the general lack of consistency. Everything felt a bit messy. This was almost 20 years ago and back then the BSDs had some features that were missing in Linux.

  • They should laugh. When I switched from FreeBSD to Linux felt it like such a downgrade.

  • If Ubuntu works for you then that's good. Don't listen to the gatekeeping weenies who shit on people for not using arch or whatever. Most of them haven't built their os from source and are just roleplaying having a unix beard.

  • Only weirdos peel their bananas.

  • Fedora. It's the one Linus uses.

  • What do you mean when you say artificial sugars? The insulin response to different sweeteners vary a lot.

  • Looks like it comes with more preinstalled applications and a custom themed gnome desktop. As far as I can find the extra preinstalled applications are available in the default ubuntu repos.

  • I've been daily driving linux for at least 10 years and I think I'm using close to 100% FOSS. Except for the stupid nvidia drivers and my steam games.

  • You should try Fedora. It's the one used by Linus.

  • Workerware like mouse jigglers and other keepalive tools that lets you focus on work instead of having to keep the screensaver from turning on.
