    Mycologists agree that LBMs (little brown mushrooms) are notoriously difficult to identify. Many little brown mushrooms ARE toxic.

    There are a few species of mushrooms that look a lot like this but are extremely deadly. You simply do not have enough info to ID these mushrooms.

    In order to id mushrooms you need at least:

    • exact location
    • time of year
    • accompanying flora
    • picture of the gills
    • a spore print

    Anyone who tries to identify a mushroom with any less than this is putting people at risk.

    Edit: As an example, Japan closes 95% of the murder cases it opens. There is a 99% conviction rate on accused murders. Yakuza exists, so these numbers don't add up.

    Edit: Without some absolutely crazy hacks, the smallest amount of data you can really transfer or compute on is one byte. 256 requires one byte, 257 requires you to DOUBLE the data used to 2 bytes. Multiply this by whatever data they send and the problem remains the same.

    This is the kind of thing that comes up a lot designing custom protocols.

  • It's really hard for me to understand how iOS is better in this sense. The only way to get this app is via the app store and the ONLY way to use the app store is be registering yourself with apple. Seems to me that you are tracked either way.

    IMHO the devs probably wrote this in Swift and just don't have experience working with android. Whole thing/story is just off IMO.

    I'm really just sceptical about the whole thing being closed source really.
