  • Ya got me. But he did at least try to unload it on Gandalf and Galadriel.

  • Wesley certainly is annoying for his first couple appearances, but I don’t really think we should hold season 1 against any TNG character. He has good moments later, and The First Duty is a straight up excellent episode.

On the other hand, hobbits aren’t annoying either. They didn’t ask to get roped into all that nonsense. Elves are the annoying ones in LotR.

  • Yo dawg, I heard you like disobeying orders, so I flew too fast while you violated a treaty, so we can risk a war while we risk a war.

  • Star Tark is boring. Give me Star Wres!

  • There’s wrong and then there’s wrong.

  • I assume they'll be part of the Academy show.

  • That's just DS9, ask O'Brien.

  • Is this that feminist riddle again?

  • For me it’s usually a matter of overestimating how many chances I’ll have to read while I’m out. Or how tired I’ll be when I finally do get a moment of down time. Hard to read through closed eyes.

  • Just finished watching Murderbot, and it definitely speaks to how well this could work. Star Trek would also just suit Apple’s brand very well, as a sleek forward looking tech company. Heck, one of the more enduring gags about the Abrams films, after the lens flares, was the Apple Store bridge.

  • It sounds like you’re thinking of Tom Welling of Smallville. This is the Superman from Lois and Clark in the ‘90s. Costumed in episode one.

Edit: clearly doesn’t mean he’s not a loser, though. But I enjoyed the show.

  • No way. Most Disney characters are horny as hell.

  • But if we don’t let twitter users whinge about obviously exaggerated and satirical drawings, how will they feel superior to everyone else??

  • It's a complete mess -

    • "So, he's really into this three year old..."
    • "Oh no!"
    • "No, it's not like that! Her people age rapidly, so she's actually fully mature."
    • "Huh. Well, I guess maybe..."
    • "Yeah, but he does totally act like her father, anyway. A super jealous insecure father."
    • "Does her family have something to say about this?"
    • "Oh, they leave behind her entire race and everything she knows in the first episode. But he proooobably didn't pressure her into it?"
    • "Probably??"
    • "They decide it offscreen. Anyway, he's the ship's lovable goofball!"

  • Mortal Coil? Joking aside, Neelix became a lot more tolerable to me after Kes left the show so half his deal stopped being what a controlling creep he was with her. I'll admit he had some good episodes and solid character development over time.

  • Fair, but I also don't give a shit about Tuvok or Neelix.

  • Moriarty was a TNG villain. Why would he fight for the people who left him to rot in holographic limbo? At best he's sitting this out, more likely he's joining the other side.

  • They called it out in TWoK, too. It was the first thing out of David’s mouth when it came up. And the movie ends with Kirk admitting that cheating the test left him unprepared for real failure.
