Yeah, it's essentially a TNG fan film series with some actual money behind it. I really came to resent it when every discussion about a modern Trek series had someone popping in to say that say they should be doing Orville instead. Like Trek shouldn't be allowed to progress past 1994.
Still, I enjoy a good fan series, so I do recommend it. Just go in with the right expectations.
I know, I once had someone open a discussion by complaining that Discovery features a black lesbian as the captain.
There are plenty of valid reasons to dislike the show, but it seems the loudest complainers have never actually watched an episode so the best they can do is to fall back on bigoted cliches.
Yeah, that's my feeling as well. Checking her IMDB, it seems she's been working on a series called The Residence that I hadn't heard of until now. Maybe they just had a better offer for her?
Grey text is looking out for their safety, good for them. Blue text is clearly communicating their boundaries, good for them. Neither is phrasing their needs as I would, but that's small potatoes. I'd rather date either of these people than most of the ones replying in this thread.
Yeah, what you're saying makes sense. I like "bad personality indicator" as an alternative, since it conveys to me it's one of many indicators you might process, maybe not even consciously. I've just had rather negative experiences being "tested" and hearing that world applied to any kind of casual social interaction gets my hackles all the way up.
These are my precise reasons for loving Quincey.
