  • Still Outward. I love this game, probably going to be playing it for a while to come. I want to try a flamethrower mage build next, or perhaps an archer/off-hand dagger build. There are still two entire regions I've not yet visited in 60+ hours of gameplay.

  • I only play solo, I don't have much time for gaming, and it's a pleasure to not have to consider others needs etc. for a little while.

Now that I know the mechanics better I have built a stronger character. I also used splitscreen to give my new character a few nice items from my first character, that makes solo a little easier and more fun.

  • I'm playing through Outward a second time. It is such a beautiful game, and I really enjoy some of the unique aspects of it like the lack of fast travel.

  • I think it is hard for outsiders to comprehend how ignorant many US-Citizens really are. Trump himself doesn't understand the three branches of the federal government, a basic and extremely important part of the system. Many, many others share this level of ignorance, it's all part of the super-rich's plan to gain more and more control, which has been slowing gaining ground for decades.

  • I'd say you should worry about it all you want beforehand, but make sure to go, and make sure to leave those thoughts at the entrance. These thoughts/emotions are there for a reason, but IMHO they are more useful for preparation, not for the event itself.

I sometimes even mime putting such intrusive thoughts into an imaginary box, locking it with a key, and setting it down somewhere, or tossing it over my shoulder. This sort of ritual helps me to really cement my intention of leaving something that I no longer need behind.

Also, having you wife with should be a great help, for obvious reasons. But really you are an adult, as long as you don't show up in a sailor moon costume I doubt if anyone will be paying much attention to you at all.

  • I don't think you are going to get much information here. I'm not trying to be condescending, but I read this post as "I have done zero research on this topic myself, please do it for me".

You will get a much better response if you first do some basic research yourself, and then come with more specific questions. I'd suggest you start with the device list from the OS you are looking at, and go from there.

Again, I'm not trying to be demeaning. I think it is great that you are looking to de-google your life, and I wish you all the success in this endeavour.

  • Dammit I meant Morrowind! I'm getting old.

  • The worst for me was elder scrolls: oblivion. I played it on xbox back when it came out. I played nothing else for about 18 months. I must have had thousands of hours by the time it got old.

  • I actually didn't even notice the link to the article. Oops. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Thank you for pointing this out. I honestly missed the link completely! I'm not usually the type to comment on a post that links to an article without reading it. Oops.

  • Defeatism will get us nowhere. The power of the people dethroned kings, and it will dethrone capitalism too.

I do agree that the actions of a single person are a drop in the bucket, but we can only fill the bucket if many of us offer their single drop. We each must do our part, no matter how insignificant that part may be.

  • This is indeed some next-level fuckery.

  • No, there are abilities that grant auch bonuses for longer, like this one:

    https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=1978

It's usually better to not look for general rules, but to instead get used to reading the ability descriptions with a focus on the key words, like traits, bonus/malus types, and saving roll types.

Edit: I made a mistake, that example does indeed just grant the bonus to the next attack only. Perhaps that rule is correct.

  • Pathfinder 2e is extremely clear in it's rules, you just have to carefully read the descriptions.

    From Monster hunter:

You and allies you tell gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your next attack roll against that prey.

    From Double Slice:

Make two Strikes, one with each of your two melee weapons, each using your current multiple attack penalty.

So you make two strikes, you roll to attack twice. The bonus only applies to the first strike. If the monster hunter feat had the following text, it would apply to both attacks:

You and allies you tell gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your next action against that prey.

  • I'm with you in this one. But I also think this is a case of having one OK character in a cast otherwise full of suberb ones. I still roll my eyes though when she gets all intense.

  • Flatpak for the Win!

    Get it? For the WIN?

  • From what AI understood, yes. Scientists are not yet sure exactly what they are, and they have no apparent way to survive outside of a cell like viruses, but they also seem to be more complex than plasmids.

  • I live in Germany, and I can assure you no such check exists. I have one of these systems (although I don't plug mine into the grid, I store power in batteries and use it)

I'm not sure how the electricians protect themselves, I can only assume that they measure for voltage on the line after disconnecting from the grid, and then search for the culprits. Generally speaking any service providers inform residents well beforehand about outages, and there might be fines if you hold back work? I haven't looked into it, perhaps someone else has more info.

  • That's angry. (0o0)
