  • Has nothing to do with narrow taste. And has nothing to do with that decade either. 70s and 50s were terrible as well. When your artist pool is only a few thousand artists that’s what happens. Like, seriously, there’s so few of them that wikipedia has an article of the majority of them.

    I’m just trying to understand, do you think that with such a small number of artists that it was even slightly statistically possible that there was a artist from the 60s and 70s that is comparable to a single artist in the top thousand artists in the past 30 years? Like it just doesn’t even make statistical sense, much less any sense if you listen to a lot of music.

    I’m not making an argument on taste. I’m making a statistical argument that is backed up by listening.

  • Nope, I’ve tested with both (and i knew that when i was testing the first time, I didn’t want to use Bluetooth I wanted to use the dongle and it wouldn’t work). It just doesn’t work with bluetooth on this computer now.

    Yep did that, the inputs show up. Steam lets you map them to letters, but trackmania doesn’t recognize them. And yes it’s the latest firmware, that was the first thing I updated.

    Please, believe me, I spent more than 4 hours trying to get this working. I’ve tried everything you’ve said and more.

  • I just got the 8bitdo ultimate 2. It connected fine on Bluetooth the first time i used it, but i was unable to get it to connect with the dock. Then the next week (this week) I’ve been completely unable to get it to connect over Bluetooth but it connects instantaneously with the dock. Like incredibly fast.

    I’ve also been unable to map the l4/r4 buttons in trackmania to keys but i think that might be a trackmania issue.

  • Here’s the thing. Famous people have been going on and saying things like “Facebook is bad” for over a decade now. Those people you’re talking about already had the chance to get past entry level.

    The “entry point” isn’t “listen to billionaires”. It’s “stop listening to billionaires”. These are two fundamentally opposite ideas so there’s no chance for the first to be an entry point to the second.

  • According to my Spotify wrapped I listened to over 400 genres, and 1200 artists last year, so no, I’m pretty positive I don’t have narrow taste, even in the slightest.

  • Funnily enough that’s exactly why I think the Beatles are just mediocre. Literally sticking out was all they needed to do, since literally nothing was good. In this day and age it’s just not good music, even if it might be a classic.

  • I mean it is a total lack of value, because it once again means that people listen to some rando on where our society should move towards rather than scientists. Facebook is bad for society. Don’t listen to founders, don’t listen to millionaires, don’t listen to billionaires. Listen to scientists.

    If people actually listen to this dude and not to scientists, that’s an even bigger problem, because once again people are incapable of understanding value at a basic level.
