Another issue is not only the establishment of better infrastructure, but also the maintenance of existing infrastructure.
The postal services are a great example of failed privatization.
In many areas letters now take weeks to arrive or dont arrive at all. Meanwhile many processes require written communication by law. My fathers business was regularly struggling with it. Think about it. You get your invoices late. Your invoices to customers are late. You receive letters from the tax office demanding a reply within two weeks, but they took three weeks to arrive. Each and every time you have to explain, that you couldn't act before, or you need to talk to your customers, why they didn't pay yet.
Germany is exceptional at creating itself so many inefficiencies that it is a cloes to a miracle when anything actually just works for a change.
The people of the US have the choice to not only elect their parliaments, but also the president. They also elect DAs and Sheriffs in many places. The people of the US have more democratic rights than most other people in countries considered democracies. This includes the ability to adress issues like gerrymandering and politically demanding to change them. But the people chose not to.
The people of the US are not victims of a system that they cannot possibly adress. Some marginalized groups are. But the majority of the American people are either in favor or indifferent to the current system. And if you are not sure about it, think about how bipartisan the resistance becomes, when marginalized groups are demanding a change to the system, like how the white democratic voters reacted to the civil rights movement or BLM.
I agree that the possibility to voice contrary opinions is lacking in those countries and that is a big difference to the West. Of course it is a vital necessity for democarcy, that people can voice different views and demand a new look at history.
I am deeply worried though, that in the western countries the pathologies are equally dangerous as they are more subversive and efficiently denied as pathologies, even in the face of contrary opinion. We see it in the casualness in which the US is toppling governments, or invading countries. We see it in the British crackdown on climate protests and similiar actions in other countries, like Germany. We see it in the prevalence of racism and antisemitism and the normality of denying human rights, like in Germanys far right deportation plans and the new deportation laws.
It is all to easy for democracies to develop and maintain pathologies as the system is easily considered immune to them. When and how gravely those pathologies express is often just a matter of fragile stability on the political and economic level, that can change quickly, as we saw with Trump, Johnson, Macron and all the other vile leaders the western nations have elected in the past few years.
That is why i think we shouldn't focus on Russias actions in terms of pathologies. The pathologies play a role, but they are easy to create the image of the pathological others and the healthy us. This makes us all the more blind to when we (western nations) commit similiar acts.
Actually there is VW and slave labor, BMW and slave labor, Daimler and slave labor, Thyssen Krupp and slave labor, Siemens and slave labor, AEG and slave labor, Rheinmetall and slave labor...
Maybe at this point the German companies should file for a UNESCO cultural heritage?
The smaller farmers are in a death cult, that demands to maintain the conditions on which the large agricultural industry can destroy them in a continued mass and price battle. We would desperately need smaller farms again, to implement sustainability and it would come at no or only modest price increases as currently the prices are made by the food processing industry and supermarkets, instead of the farmers.
Europe is spending hundreds of billions to destroy it's food security in the long run and the farmers demand to be destroyed alongside, as nobody wants to ask the question, why we run a system like this.
To be fair every western nation needs psychotherapy for similiar reasons too. The pathology of supremacist believes is alive and well in the US, UK, France, Germany and many other countries, that refuse to learn from their history
The UK tortured Julian Assange before deporting him to the US. Despite the UN special rapporteur warning about it, no other country cared to hold the UK accountable.
I know about the wars on the Balcans and the many atrocities commited. that's why it would be sensible to not do such a move unilateraly and deliberately increase ethnic tensions.
But i guess the EU officials are all just serbian puppets or whatever conspiracy people are trying to push here.
And if you are older than 12 years you know that things can be more complicated than that. Also democracies have instruments to protect minorities from despotic rulings of the majority.
There is a Serbian minority in Kosovo. The fact that Serbia is a russian puppet doesn't change the fact, that this is increasing tensions with the Serbian minority in Kosovo.
The move is condemmend by both the EU and US, so claiming tensions would exclusively come from Serbia as a Russian puppet doesn't hold true.
So which is then? You want a one off script to just quickly crunch some numbers on a problem you still need to understand? Because that is where it is perfectly normal to get some errors and doodle around. That is the entire point of it.
Or you have a concise concept of what you are going to do, and how and why? Because that is what you do, when you program more than a "one off".
Either you go to the store with a shopping list and you work through that list or you go browsing and see what comes up. But don't expect to be as fast and have everything you needed, when you dont write your shopping list at home.
Yes it will. Voices critical of Israel and calling out Israeli crimes in the occupied areas and now in the war against Gaza are crucial to changing opinion in western countries. And a changing opinion in western countries puts pressure on western governments to stop helping Israeli crimes and start providing adequate humanitarian support and to start working towards the end of the occupation and equal rights of the Palestinians.
A train wagon easily weights 20 tonnes and more. If it goes just at 50 kph, it has an impulse of 278.000 kg*m/s. Respectively 278.000 Ns. According to some googling human bones tend to break at around a force of 4.000 N.
Realistically the train is just going to flatten whatever flesh and bones are between the wheel and tracks.
