Yep, exactly. If it's palpably in the dish then it wasn't chopped finely enough or cooked long enough.
I put valetudo on my Roborock s8 and blocked its access to the internet at my router. Works perfectly and integrates well with home assistant.
I would say unless you have a specific problem that is fixed by the new firmware I would keep your system the way it is.
