  • Bro this is idle time, not when its turned on. Then its like 3:30h

  • Under 20% of Ukrainian refugees in Germany actually have a job. In all solidarity I believe these numbers should be higher.

  • Ich seh bei deinen Aussagen ne rote Linie überschritten! Les mal das UN Völkerrecht und dann sollte jede person mit mehr als 2 Hirnzellen erkennen, dass das völlig gerechtfertigt war

  • Bro why is it always you when I go on lemmy arguing on a fucking meme page in favor of communism. Get a life man!

  • We should encourage that financially. I don't think communism is a viable solution tho

  • Don't you see the contradiction in your own meme? The clown says "we are born selfish" and then goes on to say "people are generous". This in itself is a massive contradiction.

  • I'm fine with a slow update cycle as long as they don't wait too long to actually merge app breaking features, like when recently youtube changed a few things and videos would no longer load.

  • The chinese government heavily subsidises EVs in a way unsuitable for the EU for example. I think 100% on top is too much but I guess that was Biden's gambit for not losing the public to Trump's protectionist agenda. Also, china has really done a bad job diplomatically to place itself as a rival of the US with their wolf warrior diplomacy.

  • I hope this will help lenghten the battery life of my laptop. I use it for school and when I put it in Idle it still drains in like 8 hours or something really bad. I'll try it out later and edit the comment to see what happened

  • Honestly, I'd like if the browser could become truly independent from google ad money. Then mozilla devs would have to focus on the browser and come up with a donation program like thunderbird for example instead. I'd prefer to pay and know how the money is used. I absolutely hate the google dependence

  • Some german politicians have also tried time and time again to establish data retention policies because "think of the kids" argument blablabla. But so far they have failed to do that as it was proclaimed unconstitutional by our federal court. Some politicians play with the idea from time to time tho.

  • Honestly at least they'd be forced to revamp their business model and focus on their users. I'd willingly donate to them monthly if it went to firefox directly and they acted in our interest accordingly

  • Looks really cool. I hope we don't have the overreliance on one rendering engine in the future. Once one or the other comes out I'll definitely try it out.

  • I feel like this argument is fair enough. I think a pop-up informing the user about it and how to opt out is sufficient.

  • Google just maliciously makes their websites work way worse on Firefox. For YouTube I personally just use FreeTube on desktop and Tubular (A NewPipe fork) on Android so I never have to interact with that goddamn website

  • Echt? Wäre stark wenn das stimmt, muss ich überprüfen!

  • Again, that’s not how it works. If you allow currently poor countries to develop, they’ll stop providing cheap labor and raw materials to wealthy countries, and stop buying expensive manufactured products like cars and planes at a premium. That’s what the western welfare state relies on: exploitation through unequal exchange of the poorer regions of the world

I don't agree with that assessment. I believe that the amount of manual labor and cheap outsourcing isn't needed for wealth. I believe we could all increase our standards of living
