  • In the article it says that the 120 necessary signatures are already collected to take Hungarys voting rights away, so does this matter?

    Or how is this working?

  • Remember that Taiwan is a big player in the semiconductor market, and their fate will always be kinda risky because of China.

This is a way to spread out the eggs to other baskets, so the world is not so reliant on a small independent (for now) country.

  • Ehm, it's pretty much a success where I'm from. Sounds more like a personal opinion.

  • This would actually be a big step for many Android users wanting to try out another OS.

I know for myself that sideloading apps is a must for me on my phone, and if an iPhone could do that, it's at least one step closer for consideration.

  • Capitalism working as intended...

  • Next update after that: "Competing browser taking 100% of Chrome's market share"

  • It's actually better than that.

"Obligation to repair goods to which reparability requirements under Union legal acts apply. The producers will be obliged to repair outside the legal guarantee. They can repair for a price or for free as part of a commercial guarantee. Examples of product groups currently covered: household washing machines, household dishwashers, refrigerating appliances and vacuum cleaners. More products will be added in the coming years, starting with smartphones and tablets."

    Source from EU's own website.

  • The S5 is from 2014 which this year makes 10 years.

Pons_Aelius says: "the device is practically unusable after that, even if it's still working."

You say: "Not if you can change the battery"

AND THEN YOU GO ON to tell that your 10 year old phone is working but practically unusable, confirming in the most spectacular way, that Pons was right all along, even matching your very own experience to the point and date! And you still started your argument against it.

    It's amazing really. Bravisimo.

  • Batteries are also very recyclable, so we need a system in place for this, and then we'll go far in terms of earth's resources.

Because both resources, even though they are plentiful, are still finite.

  • Fair point, but invalid point when they are right.

  • But... They do? It's not the energy. It's the production and materials used for making solar that China has a near-monopoly on.

  • They have to because of the EU. So now they will get a good story out every time a state in the US "forces" them to do so.

Apple did the exact same thing a few months earlier.

  • No matter what, it's always good to use less of a resource, if you can get the same outcome. It's efficiency basically.

  • Also, Meta actually had the rewrite their new Threads app for EU, because the US version was so invasive, that they needed to adjust it.

The US still has the invasive version, like the rest of the world. Only EU gets the "better" one.

  • I think it's because the general public would expect a big company to come and fix it, like Microsoft. They feel safe because it's a well known OS that everyone uses. So it can't be unsafe, right? Right?

With Linux you're fucked if you have no computer knowledge, like most people. That's the general thinking.

  • Damn, this is a really great solution. Then I could decide once if I wanted the cookies and the browser would decline/accept(lol) all from that point.

  • Also because the Congress that approved the extension were majority of Republicans both at senate and house.

Who would have guessed they would favor the multi billion corp rather than the public.

  • This guy is the product of ignorance and propaganda.

  • This is being pushed back from 2030, so it's not good news. Just a delay on the law.
