Scatterbrained and friendly optimist. Always happy to give my (unasked for) opinion :)

Pardon my rambling and broken English, I know I often sound like an alien trying to impersonate a human being.

  • We both use baby for each other.Which sounds weird for some reason, when I write it down like this. Even though we’ve been using it for about 20 years now.

  • This has cursed written all over it.

  • Thank you!I used a symmetry tool, no copy and paste needed :)To be honest the coloring was a bit of an afterthought, I couldn't think of what to add anymore so I added some coloring to finish it.It's a digital piece, so I suppose it should be easy enough to change the colors to something like you suggest. I do like the idea of light on dark, I'll look into it when I have time. Thank you for the suggestion :)

  • I drew this on an ipad using Procreate. But I'm sure you can use something like Krita with similar results.

  • I got engaged 🥰

  • You’re welcome :)

  • I really dislike clickbait headlines like these, it’s Austria if you’re wondering.

    • Austria's military has switched from Microsoft Office to LibreOffice.
    • The move was all about digital sovereignty, not cost savings.
    • Other governments are moving away from Microsoft to protect their citizens' privacy.
  • I disagree, those bastards will find a way regardless.

  • Nice! I like the grooves in the handle, is the rest sculpted in the same way? It’s hard to see from this angle.

  • A small 8 inch laptop that can fit in my everyday bag. It hasn't arrived yet, so I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.It's my usual birthday purchase impulse, the one time I allow myself to splurge for something for no other reason than "I want" :)

I hope to use it to wean myself off of phone apps and have something that is more under my control while I'm outside.

  • I know around Europe there are some travel operators that offer passenger berths on commercial shipping lines. You probably get a small room, and it’s not luxurious. But compared to the literal hundreds tons of cargo on board your carbon footprint is probably minuscule.

You also get a unique experience about life on board, so that’s worth something as well :)I had an acquaintance who travelled from Amsterdam to Helsinki this way. She was very positive about the experience.

Though you will have to arrange two separate trips which might be a bit more complicated. Cargo vessels don’t stay in port long enough for you to enjoy a full vacation.

  • Oh good, so it’s not just me :)SJW seems to be having some problems I think.

  • Oh dear, now I’m wondering if I’m on your list or not :)

I only have two bot accounts blocked, not even sure if they’re still active.

  • The Planet of Adventure series (it came as a single book) by Jack Vance. It was more of an adventure book than sci-fi. Light on the science but amazingly descriptive with the details of its world building. It was the first time I could read a book and really experience it like I was there. I dug it out of my dad’s sci-fi collection when I was about 11 I think. It was a Dutch translation and came with a separate map. I loved that map so much, you could follow the journey and fantasize about all those other parts that weren’t mentioned in the book.

So yea, it’s the book that opened a whole realm of imagination for me.

  • takes a deep breath*Ohmygoshthat’ssofriggincuuuuuuute!!!!
