  • While you were correct the thing people forget with these types of comparisons is that they would not continue to look like the before images even if they didn't get any work done.

A lot of these women are well past their 20s and while I don't think the result of their work is attractive however in the age of social media (or just regular media) it is better to look like this then to "look old" as a woman.

  • That meme is a quarter century old (older if you count it's actual source instead of the video that made it popular)

  • Interesting... But that makes me ask... Where are they getting these sea mines?

  • Foreign media should really be labeled

  • That causes me to fall asleep quickly and then wake up 2 to 3 hours later feeling exhausted

Then it messes with my sleep the rest of the week....

  • "now is a time for healing so we are going to hold no one accountable and in a few years when the fascist are back we can do this again"

  • How is Dorito Benito going to stop the Venezuelans from taking every thing back the minute it's convenient. He would have to put boots on the ground.

  • There is a subset of boomers who do this shit.

Usually it's someone whose first email / phone was a company phone and never moved to a personal phone.

Still wild whenever I see it happen.

  • Exactly. People are talking about jumping ship from Windows to Linux after the recent update while regular people have moved to phones 10 years ago

  • Google likes to kill products because the org rewards new products.

If a product gets killed you can make it again after a few people shuffle around.

This all works well as long as ads keep making money.

  • That's not how it works and you know it.

Here, they invest in my comment and pay for it with stocks of their comment, then I loan you money to buy their comment backed by my new position in their comment.

We all then announce this massive growth in our comments, say AI at the end and line goes up, we all make loads.

  • You misspelled ASML

  • That's just dementia. Talk to a demented person and you will immediately see the massive similarities.

I can personally no longer stand news outlets like the NYT because they keep sane washing his bullshit by treating it like is actually well thought out.

They should be talking about the cadre of miscreants around him.

  • No no, I mean early 2000s dance music!

  • But would you pay for Cascada?

  • I can't stand watching the guy ramble but the transcripts have always been barely coherent. They are definitely getting worse but even in 2016 they were just drivel.

Remember when he was "DJing"? The US fetishism for geriatric morons makes me wonder if the majority have been eating lead paint.

  • What are you talking about? Ads work just as well as they ever had, maybe even better.

Just because instead of taking the form of a pre-roll they usually take the form of one of the influencers you have a parasocial relationship with showing you something they"love" or "use everyday" doesn't mean they don't work.

That also includes "sponsored content" that comprises half of most media outlet output as well as "exclusive access" which influencers get so long as they don't bad mouth the product.

Also includes LLM generated content responding on social media to make sure a product or brand at least gets mentioned in any thread that might seem appropriate.

Ads are more pervasive than ever and work just as well, perhaps better.

  • That ad campaign had such boomer energy. Even 20 years ago when they were running it the consensus was everyone would download a car.

  • The reality is that depending on the crawling architecture someone is watching.

As aggressive as the LLM crawlers are there still have limits so a competently written one will have a budget for each host/site as well as a heuristic for the quality of results. It may dig for a bit and periodically return but if you're site is not one that is known to generate high quality data it may only get crawled when there isn't something better in the queue.
