This says that the people don't want to return to the soviet system despite thinking that they were better of. What do you think about that? Is it accurate? If so, what do you think causes that?
Just in case you don't know: this is fine to protect against some random person, but this doesn't stop someone who gets access to your computer from installing a virus on your main partition (and thus gaining access to the encrypted partition next time you unlock it).
Edit: Though come to think of it, you'd also need secure boot enabled to add any security from encrypting the partition your software is on
Is the rate of profit equal to the bourgeois term return on investment? They have different definitions: Rate of profit - Profit per time over total capital, Return on investment - Profit per time over capital investment by a particular entity. It feels intuitively like they should be equal, but I'm not sure. The reason I ask is because it's much easier to find data on return on investment. Thoughts?
Slightly unconventional, but On the Method of Theoretical Physics by Einstein could be interesting for a broader perspective on the scientific method. Also Feynman's lectures on differences between mathematics and physics are interesting. Both the paper and videos are very short.
For the same reason On the Structure of Scientific Revolution by Thomas Kuhn could be good, though it's a bit longer.
IDK how useful/interesting that would be to the people in this group, but those helped my understanding of the world and epistemology a lot.
Wait is this actually why he did it? Or is this a bit?
