  • I would say the hospital would sell it to a debt collector in the UK. If it gets to court you could argue incorrect jurisdiction as the contract would have started in the US but that's risking a lot on a technicality. You would also need to fork out for a solicitor, barrister and court costs. I think they did the right thing in shaming the insurance into paying rather than fighting the debt collector who has no shame.

  • Perhaps my Prius is different but the AC doesn't turn off when I stop. When the car is not demanding power it runs off the battery this includes the AC. The engine comes on when I sit for too long but I assume that would be the case with any start stop system. With the windows are down your not going to get much cooling anyway. The age of that Prius could also do with a refilling the AC coolers if they are not getting the temp down. This is such a weird point to run on and one that has been solved with newer cars.

  • You could use the value of the car as a base. Untill if the car is worth nothing then tow its annoying but so id waiting for someone to come back from whatever. but if it's a cybertruck tow it then 1% if new would be $1000 plus lot, tow and admin fees.

  • If it's onshore then it would be possible to regulate. If it's overseas then I imagine it would be harder to regulate without kicking visa and MC out of the EU and then we would need to start over anyway.

  • That would be relevant if we had no idea why the device broke down. In a plane shot down we can assume it was hit in a place that is critical to flight. We don't know what took it down. We know the 5 year old fridge is not working because a $3 thermostat has stopped working but the part is not available and the computer onboard will not accept a generic one off the shelf.

  • I kind of get this. It's not the job of the dealer to check you legally have a licence. However I would have thought that registration would require a licence and the car can't leave the lot without registration.

  • And your sure it's not Instagram/meta capturing data on the browser or whatever you use for ddg. Do you block all cookies. Have your devices been profiled or is the website you click on selling data to meta. Are you logged in on the same device. Are you inspecting traffic and seeing meta traffick when on ddg while not on insta

    I'm not saying ddg would not sell your data but this would torpedo there whole selling point. You could describe the task you have done to mask your identity and then what you suspect they are doing.

    I would imagine the overhead for maintaining non profit or tax exempt status takes more than one form in April. So it should be deligated out.
