I found that odd for a Lemmy post but also, one year milk is in much worse condition than this image. Unless they froze it for clout? Why go through the trouble?
But that just makes me wonder even more why that is blocked out, lol.
Not to be off topic but I'd like to clarify, you're not supposed to use secondary sources regardless if you're supposed to cite primary sources. Wikipedia is legit, just not primary so you're getting information loss. You 100% could use it to lead to primary sources, though.
Not everyone understands why, though, including teachers. :/
Not all of us professors are that... uh... smitten? In fact, as far as I'm aware most faculty I know hate AI as much as everyone else if not more so-- our job is to get you to think about a subject, AI inherently adds doubt that your thoughts are your own. And that's just plagiarism. It's been a nightmare trying to adjust assignments, implement more oral presentations, and make clear the do's or dont's.
We don't usually use the copyright infringement argument (educators "borrow" content all the time, so much so that there's usually a carve out for education reasons) and we generally don't fall on the environmental impact (you know how many professors still print out everything? It's a lot). But undermining your education by using a flawed thinky machine? Your professor's doing you an injustice.
Most of the time they pay salary to avoid overtime, but that's just in middle income scenarios. I didn't say they were working only one job. People I know work two or three jobs to afford rent, easily taking up 60+ hours of their lives (or, a side hustle as they call it).
Counterpoint, I wonder how much American culture makes people more willing to be in their phone while their vehicle is moving. The toxic work culture, the disregard for others, and so on likely contributes to a higher use of phone at dangerous times. Especially since larger cars are more about lethality.
What other developed countries have a 60+ hour work week in this day and age?
Edit: thought of a few in Asia but they all have public transportation so they can safely have their 1 hour "me time" commute. If Americans wanna play their mobile games to relax they have to do it in a car, oof.
Imagine if they went full exploitive and made the ice cream flavor but then added an Israel flavor in some twisted fair and balanced way to undercut Jerry's wishes.
I grew up poor so this was a staple. Dad would add bacon and frozen veg and it never ended up costing all that much (and if you must have meat, bacon really is great calories per pack and the fat can sub in for butter). This, grilled cheese, and instant ramen with egg and spinach was 80% of my childhood (the rest being frozen foods when Dad was too drunk to cook!)
Now that I'm older, I've refined it to just make carbonara with added mushrooms and spinach, but the idea is the same. Family of four plus leftovers for less than ten bucks. And if you're even poorer, consider learning to cook with lentils or chickpeas, you can buy a lot for a solid price and go well with rice which you can also bulk up on. I had a roommate survive on like $20 a month.
I bet soy is about to get really cheap soon, too...
Ah, aside from the racism and death threats to the lock company owner, that's a funny read. The best part is how it concludes: the company knew how to take mockery in stride with a smart response video.
Just, somehow, the Florida man owner got his feelings hurt and just had to make a mess of things (and later try and seal the records after losing so badly lol).
Um... Slay the Princess, like, last night. Sure it's marketed as a psychological horror game but it's actually pretty funny.
That said, I'm also often streaming things with friends and we riff the whole time so even the least funny games ever will get a laugh at some point. Lol
Oh, I tend to grab Zenni glasses every couple of years and saw that option. I opted against since I didn't think they were much more than a gimmick, but also at time (and probably still is) they were not compatible with the kind that auto tint in the sun.
I'm also pretty sure if I do get tracked, they have my phone and my unique appearance. I'm not sure someone of my height and build is going to be able to Luigi someone.
Maybe not the worst, but I've been playing old RPGs and I really hate mandatory loss fights in late game or NG+. Radiata Stories was a fantastic game but I was bonkers powerful on my second playthrough yet somehow lost a fight to a humongous chud asshole for plot reasons. Rare misstep in that games story, honestly.
Best example of subversion of that trope, though,b was in Dragon Quest 11. If you know, you know, but I won't spoil that, lol.
Hey hey, me too. I mostly just don't want too many "redo this whole game again" stuff, unless there's a reason (split path, etc). A stress filled second run is not a good reason.
There was a post the other day pronouncing female like tamale and it made me take a while to read this post and made it a little more fun, too
