  • A lot of big words to fog a simple problem. Here's a breakdown.

Most are low information voters. Because humans are selfish and lazy.

Governing is complicated. People are busy with their own sh*t. That turns people off (lazy).

America makes it simple, binary two-party choice. No need to be informed when you just pick one of two teams, and you grew up in one already as a kid. (Lazy)

Busy on voting day? Nah, not voting (80 million Americans, lazy, selfish)

If they vote, they pick the choice that offers the things they like the most (selfish). Don't matter if it's lies or will make other things worse. No time to consider, we're busy. (Lazy)

Why are we low information voters? Can look up anything from reputable sources on the internet in seconds? Nah, how about cat videos. Porn. Dancing with the Stars is on (Selfish, lazy)

Trump bullies and Harris nags. Rather watch someone else get bullied than be nagged (Lazy, selfish)

Harris is black and woman, and has a career in public service. Trump is rich white man that barely works who acts like he's successful with beautiful women. Which do people wish to be like? (Selfish, lazy) [See: Freakanomics - selling crack vs working at McDonalds.]

Americans are lazy and selfish, resulting in low information voters. Low information voters vote against their interests and cause their own country's eventual downfall.

It isn't the Democrats fault due to messaging. It isn't Republicans fault due to propoganda.

It is always singularly only one group responsible for all problems in America, and always has been. "We the People".

Americans continue to get the country they pick.

Till Americans overcome their base human instincts en masse to overcome their own laziness and selfishness, which will be never, things will keep being taken advantage by the American oligarchy and others.

After the USSR fell the Russian people mistakenly sold their country's assets for free chicken dinners and Levi's jeans [see Red Notice by Bill Browder] due to being horribly low information citizens ("What are stocks?" Oligarchy formed and answered.)

Americans could very likely soon do the same. Seems the goal. Half of Americans seem likely to do it gleefully, if it lowers egg prices.

  • FCC will now be led by Repubs, who like data caps, more mergers, not treating the Internet as a utility, blocking municipal networks, and ignore listening to public comment, and flood the zone with fake comments on issues that are popular.

The biggest expansion in fiber networks in the US was coming down the pipeline due to Biden's infrastructure bills. The Republicans will do everything they can to slow and stop this money from its intended purpose.

Any hope of huge improvements in America's internet infrastructure just went away with the Dem administration in order to improve ISP stock prices, meaning the Internet you are currently unhappy with will only get more expensive with less competition.

As intended, by how Americans voted.

  • I am as well.

Especially since when polled a majority of Republicans agree that immigrants are "poisoning the blood of the country", and their support ticks up even more when the quote is attributed to Trump.

  • Then, you don't have that option.

  • If you want that option, try Sam's Club.

  • Hedge fund gobbled for raping capital.

Forced sale by Darden by activist (hedge) investors.

New hedge fund owned RL company immediately sells all its property (land & buildings) to separate property company owned by hedge funds.

Big dividends for hedge funds! Billions sucked out of company into shareholder pockets.

New RL then leases all properties, incurring higher costs (now paying rent!)

    Pandemic.

5 year leases all up! Property company raises rent!

RL can't afford higher rent on all locations, no longer has capital to borrow against (all sold 5 years ago), and goes bankrupt.

    MBAs are destroying the world.

  • Have a cookie.

  • We absolutely should!

How is welcoming someone for being new a bad thing?

  • Hey look, a new very active account, talking shit about... Hmmm....

Nazis, trump, cops, Russians, gays, etc!

Yeah, people like you are why I point it out new accounts.

And from the way you communicate rudely here, to me for saying "Welcome" to new members, illustrates a great point that you don't seem to be someone worth talking to, likely by anyone.

Have a great day, and looking forward to Welcoming your next alt.

  • Welcome to Lemmy, new account!

  • Welcome, new Lemmy account!

  • Welcome to Lemmy!

  • Saltbox.

Ansible-configured Ubuntu-based server rollout, with tag-based installation already available for the apps you listed.

Great docs & support Discord; simple yml configs for quick setup changes.

Single command updating entire server, Portainer for Docker management, rclone for NAS fusemount (cloudplow for syncing), & lots of additional software available to add to your setup.

    Highly recommend.

  • I find at least one commenter with a new account on almost every post with more than 5 comments.

    They tend to be negative.

Think I'm going to start welcoming them to Lemmy, note their activity to date, and ask them nicely what might have brought them to join. (If they are real, glad to have them, but I have found most Lemmy members came here from Reddit, not to make accounts to post in News or Politics or such places trolls would like.)

Until Lemmy updates to identify new accounts ala Voyager, I think that would be helpful to inform other users they may be talking to a troll.

There are approximately 433k accounts but only 48k Monthly Active Users.

It's hard to believe that many of posts and comments are often the newest accounts, and though they will change tactics to using older accounts, at least it's more work for them.

I recommend others do the same.
