Teaching was my first love. Packets were my second.

I make classes to teach people how to defend themselves against hackers. In my spare time, I teach college students to compete in cybersecurity competitions, or try to take back my home automation from the cloud.

  • @NarrativeBear This has been my #homeassistant home screen, with the cards being visible depending on context. For example, when I open the oven, a card appears with a countup timer (since I always forget to set the timer on the stove).

And, before anyone panics, the red card tracks when the last time I fed my pup, but she's staying at a boarding place while I'm out of town 🙂

  • @oneknightscripting Don't forget about latency and keeping speakers in sync with each other and the TV. It's surprisingly hard, even on a flat, local, wired network.

I haven't tried this in a few years, but my last attempt made me appreciate the simplcity and reliability of a speaker cable. 😅 I'm eager to hear experiences from you and from others, because it would absolutely be cool!
