But you're making the statement that it's okay to kill people if you want their stuff. The politics are there even if you don't choose to examine them.
The problem is that we're losing the ability to produce raw materials because we allow foreign powers to produce them for us. We have to balance cooperation with a certain degree of independence in order to maintain a position in global politics. Ideally our governments will create plans to encourage domestic aluminum recycling.
I don't know what you mean about China's actions here being untrustworthy. The problem that I see is that our governments are allowing foreigners to dominate the production of raw materials which puts us at a disadvantage.
The only problem I can see is if one interprets "snapping up aluminium scrap, smelting it and exporting it back to Europe as newly produced metal," to mean that they're mislabeling it as primary aluminum, but I don't get the impression that that's the author's meaning. They later say, "Europe is unique in consumer behaviour and its willingness to pay more for recycled products," which I take to mean that we're very willing to buy this recycled metal from China, made from our own scrap.
In my limited experience it's mostly territorial/independent fish who are confident and curious about things, whereas schooling fish have a single flake of detritus for a brain, focused entirely on being part of the group and eating as quickly as possible. There are lots of very charismatic fish out there.
The fish in the tank looks like a typical dwarf puffer, but the one in the photo looks like a totally different fish.
e: I've not been able to identify the fish on the sign, but our little cutie seems more likely to be an eyespot or mbu puffer. Here is a fun photo I found along the way:
I think I kind of get what you mean, but how does one put this into practice in an extreme real-world example? Ending a genocide, for instance, or stopping a child abuser. It seems to me that nonviolence is a good strategy to prevent such situations, but that violence is necessary if those methods fail.
The take I heard is that the US is bad, but also we can't be upset about this if we would be happy seeing other world leaders arrested for crimes like genocide, etc. This person showed me a number of celebratory Reddit posts to reinforce that it's a good thing.
I don't know how difficult the right-wingers have made it to move here in recent years, but Sweden has pretty great trans healthcare. The wait times can be annoying, but are lightning fast compared to the shit I hear from the UK and US, and everything is paid for collectively. It should go especially smoothly if you're coming in with a diagnosis and prescriptions already from home.
Nearly everyone is capable of speaking English to accommodate the array of international people here, and there are dedicated courses for foreigners to learn Swedish from beginner level through high school. These courses are paid for collectively and can even earn you money through the CSN program which helps alleviate financial burdens while studying.
It's kind of nuts how generally trans-positive the public is. When I went to get my ID with my new name the cop who handed it to me was really excited and happy for me. It's not something I was expecting based on the general transphobia of the world.
Maybe it's like a Baby It's Cold Outside situation where she's playing into the idea of being conquered because that's considered a normal courtship style for her culture.
No one has this update; humans can only partially digest gluten. The remaining peptides aren't bothersome for most people, but they're what trigger things like celiac in some. Even those who tolerate gluten would benefit from an increased ability to digest it.
They wanted to know something about human history that wasn't on record, and they learned it by digging up and investigating artifacts. That sounds like archaeology.
