  • Lately I've been considering the idea that people under a certain age (16? 18?) should be banned from television and cinema altogether. My thinking is that it's a form of child labor, and that they're not able to consent to fame.

  • I'm not offended, if that's what you mean. I'm just curious what it means because I haven't seen it before and can only guess.

  • What does it mean that you've put an asterisk next to human? Is it just because of the context of vampires or is there like a broader meaning I'm not familiar with?

  • Maybe they've changed something since I last tried getting help via Discord, but I found the search feature extremely lacking. I never have trouble finding someone else with my same question/problem, but there's no means of viewing replies to the message in question, or even whether anyone replied at all. One is required to manually browse potential hours or days of messages in the hope of following a conversation chain that might not even exist. This is made even worse by the fact that replies to a message aren't necessarily registered as replies because they're just subsequent chat messages.

  • Is there a reason to not ban closed-source software?

  • Eating human eggs is way more ethical than the eggs of other species because humans can consent to you harvesting them.

  • But the point is that if you're going to make a villain you can't get upset when your heroes try to help their victims.

  • Oh no, I have a really easy means of getting my players organically motivated in my story. :(

  • I'm not criticizing people who are quietly kind; I'm criticizing the idea that loud people should be quiet.

  • To add to the other post, when someone says something "is praxis" it's shorthand for good praxis, something that helps people and/or convinces others to be helpful.

  • I'm not sure if supporting liberation silently is effective.

  • I'm against industrialized abuse and slaughter of animals, but unseasoned meat is delicious. I don't think making things up about the flavor is a good argument.

  • "You should watch Love is Blind so that we have something to talk about."

  • You seem to attach a negative meaning to what I've said. Compromising values is one way that a person can change and adapt.

  • I'm saying it can't combine clothed children and naked adults to make naked children. It doesn't know what "naked" means. It can't imagine what something might look like. It can only make naked children if it has been trained on them directly.

  • It literally can't combine unrelated concepts though. Not too long ago there was the issue where one (Dall-E?) couldn't make a picture of a full glass of wine because every glass of wine it had been trained on was half full, because that's generally how we prefer to photograph wine. It has no concept of "full" the way actual intelligences do, so it couldn't connect the dots. It had to be trained on actual full glasses of wine to gain the ability to produce them itself.

  • You think you intentionally made it annoying to read, but you accidentally made it really fun to read.
