  • Vaxee, Zowie and Endgame Gear make the highest quality mice I’ve tried. The first two have onboard configuration with no software necessary. But if you need the side to side wheel navigation, Logitech.

  • Just do it. Stop yapping, start doing. The hemming and hawing and trying to be proper about this shit is infuriating. They don’t play by the rules so, fuck it - pull a Brazil and yank the rug out. It worked.

  • My aunt did hostile takeovers and her husband was even more rich. Their kitchen was bigger than my entire house. And that was their vacation house. I couldn't appreciate most of it, I was just a kid. But I remember my cousin had a pool in his room.

  • I like the utility feed hanging off the front of the house going straight through the roof and blocking them from installing the other fake shutter. I wonder what other construction horrors lurk inside.

  • They’re also assholes as customers. Worked for a company that did monitoring for them and they were an absolute nightmare to deal with. They were so demanding of our time and liked to wave around legal threats so often that eventually management shelled out for a consulting company (who were SMEs with our product) just to manage their install.

  • They make good money but it’s brutally hard on the body.

  • A two seater with lambo doors that look like they’ll immediately get sheared off by a passing truck that can’t see them. A laughable delivery timeline. And the “concept” bus looks like a Dustbuster that’ll get stuck in a pothole or on top of a speed bump with its current ground clearance. It’s almost like he’s deliberately trying to tank the stock making all this impractical shit.

  • Yeah this attrition is expected by Amazon. IBM and others did this earlier. If enough people choose to RTO they will do “real” layoffs and get a pat on the back in the news for not letting as many people go as they would have had to before. Optics I guess. IIRC this is the second round for Amazon.

Some are saying companies are doing this to keep their property values up but I think that’s only one facet. What I don’t see being called out often is companies doing this are hiring replacements overseas in tax havens and/or where they can pay less for talent. Real kicker is, those hires wind up being remote anyway to the anchor offices.

  • Obligatory fuck IBM they are largely patent trolls at this point adding zero value to anything.

  • No you have to switch your vpn to Albania to avoid YouTube ads.

  • Jokes aside, you can do different stage installs where you don’t have to compile the whole OS. However I feel like the quality has dropped during the past few years and it requires too much tinkering. Back when everything was on spinning rust, the performance difference was very noticeable though.

  • The board recommended that shareholders vote to give him his 50 something billion compensation package and move the incorporation to Texas. Shareholders seemed divided on the package award due to his erratic behavior, that there isn’t a dedicated captain of the Tesla ship (among other things such as shareholder governance) - but he got the package.

Hopefully they’re taking a harder look after sales took a massive hit, the Cyberturd launch was a flop and vehicles are filling lots unsold. I’m not holding my breath though.

    Best fish rule

  • There was one with a deformed tail at work. Poor guy could barely swim. Other fish picked on him. I’d make sure to drop food so he wouldn’t have to swim as far. He outlived all the other fish.

  • Arvind regularly makes it clear in meetings that he doesn’t give a flying flip what the employees think or feel and that he knows best. So this is not shocking. He’s made similar bootlicker comments before. I’m sort of surprised more of his terrible takes aren’t made public.

  • Especially since it was largely a failure in the racing series it competed which at the time was dominated for years by Nissan.
