  • I used KDE early on... around SuSE 7.3. It was a trash fire for a long time. Wildly unstable, would take so long to compile it was basically a meme in the community before memes existed in mainstream, and it was like every single random idea was implemented. Zero cohesiveness. Thumbed their noses at any kind of UI/UX standards. Gnome, of all things was the more solid option if you wanted a "desktop." Weird to think about considering how that ended up. It has come a longgggggggggg way. Still not for me but after messing with it recently I was pleasantly surprised.

  • I rolled my ankle, damaged the arch of my foot and rode my bike home because I couldn't walk. I didn't really have a good support system to say the least and had to rely on myself. I have a slight limp now. Definitely listen to this advice. Dr was facepalming so hard when I told him what I'd done.

  • I am like her, but I hate the commute and that my dogs are lonely. Some workplaces do work-from-home well, and most don't. So that may be part of her problem. Seems to work best at companies where they started and continue to be remote-only.

    edit: It has arrived. Got the green, and it's pretty stunning. No defects I can detect. Immediately installed NextUI which should be stock IMO. I like that it has the tactile style buttons similar to the SP. I thought it would be too small, but it has grippy knurling like OG Game Boys on the back so you have something to grab on. Overall, super impressed. Anbernic, etc. on notice now, ha. Thanks for helping me discover this.
